Developed on the site of an old dairy farm in the 1950s, Crestview offers a fascinating blend of old and new. The mid-century ranch homes and bungalows are being met with sleek, modern apartment buildings, offices, and the mixed-use development Midtown Commons. One of the landmarks in Crestview is the Wall of Welcome, a mosaic that stretches 120 feet along Woodrow Avenue.
While Crestview maintains its close-knit, suburban atmosphere, it is increasing in popularity due to its great location and the available mass transit. The Crestview Station is on the Red Line of the Capital MetroRail, and it also provides premium bus service by Capital MetroRapid. Maintenance is great, but the amenities are not always kept clean. Wish the hallways were cleaned more often, the first floor gets a lot debris which gets blown into my doorway.

I've been living at Midtown Commons for 8 months, and it's been a fantastic experience! The location is unbeatable – everything I need is just a short walk or drive away. The price is also great, especially considering the quality of the amenities. Speaking of amenities, they are top-notch! From the gym to the pool (or other amenities – specify if applicable), everything is well-maintained and easily accessible. The staff here are incredibly friendly and always willing to help, which makes the community feel welcoming and comfortable. Lovely community and amenities. My only complaint would be that it's difficult to have friends and family visit due to not having a reliable guest pass for them to access. This also makes it difficult to order any food deliveries especially when you're disabled and unable to physically walk down to the gate to open it each time. Other than that it's a quiet community with well built units.

I love it here! I’ve called midtown commons home for nearly 8 years and I’m still just as happy as I was day one. Everyone here is friendly and welcoming. And the neighborhood is so walkable! I love being able to get just about anywhere in town in 15-20 mins. So proud to be a resident here — cheers to another year of MTC livin’!

While there are still benefits to living here (primarily location), quality has become significantly worse. Most obvious: events used to be community-building, but are now half-effort grab and gos for the most part. One of my favorite parts originally living here was doing things like cooking classes to meet neighbors, but now it’s “grab a tootsie roll from the leasing office today.” Related: 1) what happened to the food trucks? 2) I was assured we’d have the annual Pride event, but without explanation it was replaced with a generic Tiki theme (ending up with maybe a quarter of the turnout of past years, and from speaking to neighbors who identify with the community, resulting in upset about the change). Also, maintenance is much slower; it took over six weeks to fix our elevator and had tickets that were dismissed without resolution. Despite rent prices lowering in Austin, I was charged a good amount more for renewal; only the location kept me from attempting to find a better option

Convenient. Good natural light. Staff is courteous and responsive. Pretty accessible. Quiet for a large apartment complex. I'm extending my lease for another year.

After 4 months we are getting fond to the neighborhood and the town. MTC has one of the best locations. I would recommend to put more fences in the patio facing to the train rails and station. This would make residents feel safer, as there are some strangers walking nearby occasionally. Maintenance team are excelent and fast !

I really enjoyed living at Midtown Commons. My neighbors are kind and considerate. The upstairs might forget that we are below them. The location is great! We enjoy going to the shopping center across the street. The traffic is a little challenging but that’s ok. There are numerous issues we don’t care for like security and entry maintenance. People are very nice here.

Still enjoying my apartment and the location is convenient for me. Easy to get downtown via car, or by metro rail easily. Still waiting for the doors in the garage to be fixed. I hope to see them fixed correctly soon for better sense of security. The pools are nice, gym is useful, and the outer noise isn’t intrusive. Wish other people would clean up after their dogs better.

I like this apartment. It’s the best apartment I’ve lived in. The neighborhood is walkable. There is plentiful parking. The apartments are clean and well managed.

Cleanliness is not a virtue here. It’s pretty filthy throughout the entire community especially the elevators and stairwells. I’m frankly quite shocked tbh. Also there are people walking around on the roof at odd times of the day and night. I had not thought much about it until a neighbor told me that she has reported that there are squatters living on the roof. Very common around here. Nothing too impressive. Just kinda so so!

Pretty good. Things are a little outdated but also some are updated. People here are nice and quiet. Rent is a bit espensive for what you get.

Midtown Commons has good things about it but there is certain amount of disrepair in the community amenities that really drags it down. The grills didn’t work when I tried to use them last, the gym is missing weights and the access doors break regularly, and are never repaired thoroughly. My Brivo pass is essentially useless right now as it won’t work to open the two access doors to my building near my apartment. I like the neighborhood, and I like the pools, and the gym but they’re better when they’re all kept up. The ladies in the office will put you on hold without warning and act exasperated when you reach out about problems.

It's quite a nice apartment, great location, great amenities. I would recommend 100% From leasing to move in it was a very smooth experience and I have yet to experience anything bad.

The complex is fine, apts are slightly above average for what I’ve seen around Austin. Onsite management is friendly and relatively responsive. Property owners are the same profit focused apathetic business people as any other major complex owners. My renewal rate was $200 higher than what current apts are renting for at the actual time of renewal. Was told there would be an “annual inspection”, first one in 3 years, not exactly annual. Clearly just an assessment to see about flipping the apt for the next tenant. Call it what it is.

Midtown commons is awesome. Great location not too far from downtown. The maintenance team is fast, and management is responsive and helpful! Great apartments.

After three months in my Phase 1 apartment, I am still pleased by the convenience, amenities, staff, and general state of the property at Midtown Commons. The office staff is very responsive to questions and concerns, patient and courteous with in-person inquiries, and prompt in replying to emails. The maintenance staff is friendly and has been very responsive to my minor, self-created issues. Appliances are tip-top, there is dependably hot water, and solid insulation keeps utility bills easily manageable. I also appreciate the steady flow of community events and promotions.

Maintenance lately has been mediocre (I have an issue with door to water heater that won't shut correctly so instead of fixing it he just slammed it shut, also its been 2 weeks and towel rod in bathtub still not replaced). They don't prioritize resident safety with how accessible our parking garage is. Fitness Center is decent.

I've lived here about a month now and can say I've been loving my time here so far! The staff is very friendly and attentive and any work order requests I've put in have been taken care of quickly. The units, gym and pools are all great. I love that each month there are events and ways to get to know people. The actual community is quiet, and anyone I've met here has been super nice. Keep on keepin' on :)

Just a bit disappointed after today. There has been many changes happening around the complex. The afternoon was filled with workers drilling into the walls which is on one hand, understandable. I get updates need to happen, but a heads up would’ve been nice. I didn’t get an email about it at all. I work from home and it was distracting. I would’ve gone into the office had I known. Also the fire alarm going off without knowing if it was a real emergency or not was a bit concerning. It happens. Also, I am a bit sad because I had saved up a ton of community points on my previous account from my former unit before I transferred into the new one. It been a year since I inquired about how to recover those points, no answer. Eh still grateful to have a roof over my head. And the location is good. Every thing works fine. The trash is crazy here. I wish the valet trash came around more often so it doesn’t look filthy on the weekends

Property upkeep isn't the best. When you tour the property you will see electronic locking systems broken plus much more. They've been broken in many cases for over 2 yrs. Hallways are littered with food stains and pet hair. The unsafe grills haven't worked properly for over 3 years. Property lighting doesn't work in many places. Pool furniture isn't kept up. Mailroom lockers are broken because of theft due electronic gate locks not working. In most cases the on-site mgmt, Greystar, wants to fix the issues but the property owners MIG refuses to fund the projects. I enjoy the location and the in-unit maintenance has always been top notch. I will say the office staff isn't very welcoming anymore. They rarely greet you and often don't even acknowledge your presence. That was never the situation at this property. Office staff /mgmt have always made you feel welcome and appreciated when you visited the office. However, Anna does a good job! Always welcoming! MTC could be a 4 star property.

Gates, doors, and parking could be improved upon for safety as a lot of doors and gates have issues and/or do not work for a lot of areas for several months now.

Living here has been great, I have not run into any issues so far. My only complaint is they could do a better job keeping the propane in the grills filled as they are constantly empty.
