ANTS!!! Just moved in a week ago and as I was moving stuff in I noticed ants all over the pantry, kitchen, dining area. Now a couple of them wouldn’t have bothered me but it was way too many. It’s so hard especially having a baby here thats not even 2 yet! They’ve gotten all in his toy box that has all of his toys. I still have yet to put any food out, I can’t use the pantry at all, I can’t go grocery shopping as I need to. I was told somebody would come but that hasn’t happened. On top of that, it rained and the water came into the apartment and luckily I was home because I had a puddle of water on my living room floor. Again, I was told somebody would come handle it but NEVER came and I've been home all week. You can tell the floor has had water damage before as well. I wasn’t able to view the unit until the day I moved in, I’ve trusted them to do right, BIG mistake. The amount of inconvenience this has caused me already is ridiculous…. This is horrible! Do NOT Move Here!

This used to be a good place to live. We'll maintained and helpful staff. Recently that's not the case. There are many dead plants and hedges...nothing is done about replacing them. The lawns are not clean. Some residents have left dog poops around in the lawns and so far the staff have not done anything about it. It looks unkempt and dirty...It's sad.

I like the unit, the community and the location. The exterior of the units could use some updates.
McDermott Place is a lovely place to live. Office staff is always pleasant and helpful. Maintenance guys, if needed, are always quick, friendly, and efficient. They all always listen to explanations regarding any "quirky" requests, and are willing to go the extra mile, within reason of course.
I really like the staff and maintenance team. they are always prompt.

I have lived in McDermott PLace for almost 3 years and would not consider another apartment. It is absolutely the best place anyone could ask for.
The on-site team is wonderful and I enjoy living at McDermott place. The maintenance team is quick to fix any issues that come up.
The automatic gates are still not work properly, and its been more than 6 months . Sense of security is Not there due to broken gates.

I've lived here right at 14 years. Love my unit, staff is great.
I toured here recently and I am just amazed at the service I received just for touring! They didn't have any apartments available for when I am needing to move and they were pricier than I wanted to pay but just the service I received and the way the manager (I think) was handling a disgruntled resident while I was there, I am just blown away. These people must have a degree in customer service. The maintenance guy that walked in was dressed in a polo and I only knew he was maintenance because he asked another employee about a work order and the tools, he had with him. I will definitely be moving in the future.
Mcdermottplace maintenence is always prompt to respond to every request and very quick to find out the root cause. They work to resolve it in the best possible way. Back office staff collaborate with best practices.

I've lived at McDermott Place since October 2007. Through many changes (including moving to a new unit due to renovation), the office and maintenance staff has always been caring, friendly, yet professional. In fact, I'm renewing my lease in June for another year. We also now get notified if we have packages, and a quick scan of a messaged/emailed code and we're in the room to pick them up. LOL, it's actually been fun watching the boys playing between my building and the one across grow up. I noticed this spring that voices have changed, and growth spurts have become the norm. :)
I have lived at Mcdermott Place for over 10 years. I love the townhome feel of my place. It is very quiet (almost too quiet sometimes LOL) and in a very nice area. I feel safe at all times. The maintenance is quick and efficient. They also are very nice, no matter what the issue is. The management now is wonderful! I have been through several management teams. Some were not so wonderful.... I love my apartment and hope to stay longer! My biggest issue 10 years ago was I was newly divorced with a daughter. Wanted to feel safe for myself and her. I did her and still do. Never felt like I was in an apartment, felt like a home.

As a six-year resident of McDermott Place, I would recommend living here. The management staff and maintenance staff are both very professional and helpful at all times. The ambiance is very pleasant and I feel very at home here. Very nice residents also.

I have lived here for oner a year now and it is the best living decision I have made in the last 10 years. The apartments are spacious and quiet and the other residents friendly. I can't say enough good things about the staff, they make me feel as if I'm one of the family.

Mcdermott Place Apartments is not a place to call it "home". Many reviewers generously gave it 4 stars without analyzing well the real situation. A friendly smile from the leasing staff doesn't make it up for so many flaws. My experience living here was a nightmare during Covid19. Never ever will rent first floor units. I'll make sure that I view the unit itself rather than just their model unit. I will also ask lots of questions regarding water&trash fees. I just couldn't afford to break my lease and leave; I certainly wasn't ready to go through additional setbacks during Covid crisis.
No concerns noted thus far, overall experience is remarkable.
I don't recommend this apartment. It's full of rodents. Management and pest control can't get rid of them. The buildings are similar to townhouses but first and second floors are separated for each tenant. Some units have pretty floor plans while others; specially the one bedrooms units, are simply horrible.
I rented 2 bedroom there for one year with 3 kids but i begged them to fix my refrigerator for 5 months, i hired professional to clean the apartment but when i moved out they charged. Microwave was not working i called them to fix but no Response. I called them to check the appartment before I left they said they come but they waited for me to move out , after 20 days thats the time the wrote the email.
We just moved from out of town and so far we love it here. My wife and daughter have made so many new friends in the short time we have been here and the office staff has been really helpful.
I just moved in less than a month ago. My first visit to view the property I meet with Cecili. She had great customer service and super cool personality. Taylor assisted me several times and she is just wonderful. At move in everything in the apartment was clean. The garage was the cleanest garage I have ever rented. The community is very nice and the are currently doing upgrades. The down side for me is the garage is small even opening the door to get out is a little tight. I do have a one car garage attached to one bedroom. Not a lot of space to store items but it's a good space if you don't have much to store. No the other down side for me was the bedroom closet. I guess since I looked at so many apartments I must have recalled a different layout of the closet. The closet in the 1bedroom is deep but the wasted the storage space in the closet. The unit has high ceilings so if the would've move the shelves and racks up they could e ran another rail and shelf below for addition hanging and storage space. It's alot of wasted storage space in the closet. I had to add my own shelves to accomadare my things. I hate wastes space. Besides the comments above this community is very nice and worth coming down a viewing the units to see if it will fit for you. Everyone seems super nice so far. I'll do a follow up post about 6 months from now. They also do alot of appreciation events. I think that is awesome because it shows they really care about the tenants. So far I got emails about Easter and Mothers Day. They also had Pizza at the front gate. I'm happy o move here.
This was the best office staff I have ever encountered, everyone was always accommodating and greeted you with a smile, even if you stopped by right before close to pick up mail. The community was always clean and well maintained.
Kids in the neighborhood are not supervised by adult most of the times. They play with bikes and skooters scratching cars like mine! No one is to blame and I'll have to pay for the repairs.
Community facilities and office personnel are nice but our move in experience and continued maintenance issues has tainted our recommendation of this community.
mtce services are not addressed timely, and the pool area is not open for swimming particularly when the schools are out
The office staffs should be more professional.Today they closed the office by 530, without any intimation.I got a packet delivered in the office and one of the office staff received it however she could not find it when my son asked for it.I got it with the help of one of the technical staff who was luckily there till 6PM.
I have told other people about the great staff here.

This is A beautiful and well maintained property with a courteous staff.
As I mentioned before, the fact that the community kept in mind that we are Spanish speaking people, and sent someone who speaks Spanish says a lot of the community
Except the price, everything is great..
I would recommend it since it is the only apartment complex in the area. It is very safe though, and the public areas are well maintained.
Playground is a disappointment. Pool is very nice. Unit itself is old and in need of updating throughout.
Would be nice to have a big fenced dog park with everyone cleaning up after their dogs.
Really well maintained and managed diverse community, short walk to pharmacy, connivence, park, and community centre. The exteriors have beautiful charm with a grey, black and red colour scheme, and the interiors are updated neutral, great blank canvas whatever your style. Only issue is the gates - their management is not consistent, they are supposed to be closed from 6pm to 6am but this is not always the case.
Yet the apartment has pretty much stayed the same. The neighbors are different and the normal neighborly issues always arise, but for the most part it's been a good place to live. It's a gated community and in a good area for kids with quick access to a lot of shopping and the like. I've tried to see if there was anything better out there for the dollar, but I end up staying each time my lease is up, which is unlike me.
