Old Towne Petersburg displays incredible historical architecture from the 18th and 19th centuries in the heart of Petersburg. This significant locale is an inviting culinary and shopping destination, with almost all of its restaurants and shops in historic structures. There’s several locally owned restaurants that offer Italian, Greek, Latin American, Southern cuisine and more. Old Towne also boasts approximately a dozen antique shops, primarily on West Old and North Sycamore Streets, but also on North Market, Bollingbrook, and West Bank Streets.
Old Towne’s location along the Appomattox River puts residents close to waterfront dining options and walking trails. You’ll find newly renovated apartments in long-standing buildings all with a unique charm, and with U.S. Highway 301 and Interstate 95 so close, you can be in any of the surrounding communities in no time.

It's great to hear that Melissa and our team at Mayton Transfer Lofts have made your stay enjoyable! We appreciate the kind words - thanks for choosing us as your home away from home!
This place is by far the worst apartment complex I've ever lived in. The grounds are filthy, the office staff is completely unhelpful, and the walls are paper thin. You will hear literally everything going on around you from people talking outside, to your next door neighbors crying baby, to the person above you stomping around. They have no kind of signage for delivery service to know where they should go to find your apartment, I've had food delivered to the wrong apartment multiple times because of this. Just don't bother with this place. It's a hassle & you won't get any peace while living here.

This review is concerning to receive. We want the most for our residents, and it is disappointing that this has not been better reflected in your experience. I would appreciate another chance to speak with you to see what more I can do to address this feedback. If you are willing to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out. My complaint has many dynamics to it. It's my overall experience from move -in to move-out. The leasing staff lies about security deposit issues, early moveout options aren't given correctly, maintenance issues took to much time to repair and I truely believe that due to the limited rent options in the area (due too crime), they feel they can get away with all these things. Fort Lee is not closing and the demand for hosing is great. It's just a shame the way military, (active duty, reservist and veteran's as well as there families) are treated.
For anyone wanting to move into the Mayton Lofts; on 250 E Bank St, Petersburg, VA 23803. There are a lot of negatives about this complex. -Walls are thin as paper, you could hear people walking in the hallway, you could have a two way conversation through the wall, it sounds like they’re walking in your apartment. When I say thinnest walls ever, you're probably not going to get good sleep. -Parking is horrible. - Water doesn’t stay hot for more than 10 minutes. -ROACHES, ROACHES, ROACHES; tried getting rid of it myself, with fumigating the whole apartment, but they just kept coming. -Trash is always overloaded. -Smells like MARIJUANA some of the time. -It may be convenient for military, but its not worth it. Trust me, coming from someone in the Armed Forces. -Dogs barking all the time. -Shower pressure is really low.
This complex offers good starter lofts to the younger crowd. As far as the credit entry you can have no credit, good credit, however you just cannot have bad credit. Which is a huge perk if your fresh out of mom and dads house. Unfortunately they do not offer very many amenities. No pool, or gym. But the location is conveniently within walking distance of many mom and pop restaurants, bars, coffee and bake shops, and right next to the YMCA. But I will say they do have their ups and downs. Pros: Easy to get approved Maintenance is friendly and timely Pet Friendly Interior well kept (Weekly hall cleanings) Can pay rent online Has sister complexes in other cities. Deposits (including pet) are transferable Cons: Walls are paper thin No leniency even if you pay rent a day late and have been with them of 4 Years ($100 late fee) No on site pool or gym Has a overflow/guest low because the main lot cannot accommodate all of the residence. Will auto renew your lease without telling you 2 months prior to it ending. Will nickel and dime your deposit for silly things (Door stops) or things that they cannot prove or cannot show you. ("Odor in the bathroom?" After I had my Apartment professional cleaned and looked over every inch of it) Even after a leasing agent reviewed the cleaned apartment with me. (WARNING: GET EVERYTHING FROM THEM IN WRITING)
