Margeaux Metairie is disgusting! On our move-in date, the dishwasher had dirty dishes in it and the oven was completely filthy. They painted the inside of the white cabinets black, what the hell are they trying to hide?! With the inside of the cabinets being black, it was hard to notice that the bathroom sink had a leak. They claim they have the units professionally clean prior to new tenants moving in. Well either way, we like to double clean for our own peace of mind. We proceeded to vacuum the place before moving some boxes in. Our vacuum was completely full of dirt; I thought to myself that there was absolutely no way this unit was professionally cleaned. 3 weeks after moving in, we started experiencing bites and find bed bugs on our belongings! We believe it was a prior infestation because till this day, we still have no furniture, and our mattress is brand freaking new. The pest control guy even said "Wow, by how big the bug is, they must've been here growing for a while". Now they want us to live out of trash bags for weeks while they do treatment. In addition to that, we discovered mold growing in the ceiling in our bathroom! When we first noticed it, we told management immediately. It looked like maintenance came to spray it just to cover it up. Well, a week later, the mold started to come through the paint and started spreading! Now they cut a giant hole in the ceiling and I am left without a shower for 2 days while they fix it. If they would've just fix issue to begin with, the problem wouldn't have escalated to this. This is completely insane to make their tenants live like this. They want me to pay a fee for breaking my lease when they provided me an insufficient unit.

The apartment did not have any reported bed bug activity prior to you taking possession. Once bed bugs were reported, we responded promptly with professional treatment and conducted weekly follow-up inspections. The most recent inspection found no live bed bugs. Please note that it typically takes up to 30 days for treatment to be fully effective. Regarding the bathtub leak, our maintenance team initially inspected the area and found no active leak at that time. As a preventive measure, they applied an antimicrobial treatment (Aftershock) to inhibit any potential mildew growth. When the issue was reported again approximately a week later, we re-inspected the area, identified the source of the leak, and took immediate corrective action. Our team removed the affected sheetrock, repaired the leak, installed new sheetrock, and verified that there was no remaining moisture present.
Be careful, they will nickel and dime you when you try to leave. I was month to month and left for a new job. Even if you're month to month they require 60 days notice, which I gave. I physically left before the end of my 60 days but completely agreed to paying whatever forward rent I had to the end of the 60 days. I gave them my keys early WITH A CLEAR VERBAL AGREEMENT that I would be paying until the end of my lease and it wouldn't effect anything with my deposit or incur any fees. A month or so later I get a bill saying I FORFEITED MY DEPOSIT by giving my keys early. If I had known this I would have just given my friend the keys to give on the last day. Instead I'm out $250 for trying to do the right thing and let them get the apartment back on the market earlier. Again, there is no way I'd give them the key when I left if I knew I'd be losing my deposit for it. This isn't the only time they will try to scrounge every bit of money out of you, but this was the first time where I was clearly lied to (knowingly or unknowingly) about it. Be careful.

We never intend for a resident to leave on bad terms. The details of your contract are clearly laid out in your Lease Agreement. In order to avoid having your deposit forfeited, you would have had to either complete your notice period OR paid any sums owed prior to your move-out date. Had you paid what was owed prior to moving out, your deposit would not have been forfeited. By your own admission, you turned in keys and left early. We try to be very transparent with the fees/costs associated with moving early. You said you gave a verbal agreement that you would be paying until the end of your lease, but that is not what happened.
I want to start this review off by saying that I have lived at terraces 2 for a year now and I have never been late on rent. With that being said there is a lady at the office who is very rude to guests and not very good with customer service at all. I'll give an example. So last month was the 11th month of my time here at terraces 2 and I asked if I could possibly be transferred to a 2 bedroom or town home for more space. She explained to me everything that goes with that and insisted that I take some time and think about it. So I did and yesterday I came and asked to be moved. She replies very rudely "well I'm the only one here so we're gonna have to make an appointment just come by tomorrow" I said ok and left. Today I came by and and asked about it. Again she was very rude with me and said "I told you yesterday we had to make an appointment" basically dodging me saying that what they have going on is more important than helping me get into a new apartment. Then when I said something about the water damage that has been happening to the roof. She said "You should have reported that weeks ago!" But the water damage didn't actually present itself to us until recently. She said the maintenance man said it had to have been leaking for "awhile" but obviously the water damage isn't gonna present itself to us right when it happens. It was a slow leak. She has just been very rude and hard to work with. That isn't the only thing she has been rude about but it is the most recent. I wouldn't recommend that anyone move into these apartments ever.
