Property Ratings at Maplewood Park
On July 20, 2018 I entered into a 6-month lease agreement between Maplewood Park Apartments; however after personally inspecting the unit I found the conditions of the dwelling unit unfit and uninhabitable due to an ongoing roach infestation. I reported this infestation issue on July 20, 2018 and have since spoken with Tonya, LaShonda and BethAnn about it. The leasing agent (Tonya) was extremely unprofessional and the regional manager (BethAnn) was unsympathetic to my concerns as a resident. The apartment was not properly turned over prior to my move in. For instance, the cabinets were dirty and had writing in them, the walls were not painted to cover up writing from a previous resident and nail holes were not patched. Additionally, there was water damage in the cabinets. It was mutually agreed that my 6-month lease would be voided and I would be given back my security deposit and part of my prorated rent back; however, my full pro-rated rental payment was not returned. I attached photos and video to an e-mail I sent to them on July 30, 2018 but needed to wait until the grievance committee met on August 23, 2018. Their conclusion was that not returning my full pro-rated rental payment was fair based upon them allowing me out of my lease and returning my security deposit and that it was unfortunate that I was unhappy with my apartment. The unit WAS NOT "certified pest free" prior to my occupancy. PestNow the 3rd party vendor that they use DOES NOT offer such "certification." Please see photos attached to this review. Additionally, they may "release the residents responsibility" of the lease agreement but they will keep part of the monies you paid. I was in the apartment less than 24 hours and roaches were EVERYWHERE! I had to immediately move-out and they have refused to compensate me and return my full pro-rated rental payment for the expenses that I incurred as a result of their negligence. I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone.
Thin Walls. The apartments are molded from the inside out. Staff is so rude and sarcastic and don't care about their tenants. This place is corrupt and going downhill very quickly. I couldn't wait to move out of here. Worst experience ever. My family and I counted the days until our lease was over we felt so miserable. Tenants don't seem to live here more than 6 months to a year it's so bad. I tried to be positive and stick it out but had to move out for the health of my kids. Please avoid this place at all costs. You will regret living here. I am so happy to finally be out of there.
Been living here for 5months it's really nice here. NEVER noisy it's like kids don't exist. In my old apartment kids we're always outside. Maintenance are good as well.

My fiance & I moved in a little over 2 months ago. I swear, the office has been nothing but amazing!!! I love the upgraded kitchens, spacious bedrooms and quiet neighborhood. Jessica is one of the main reasons we moved here. She's kind, personable and very honest about the whole deal from beginning to end. I have recommended several people to live here.
