Awards – Lincoln has ‘em. One of the nation’s best college towns, one of the best downtowns, one of the top 100 places to live (three years in a row and counting), one of the nation’s most recession-proof cities, a top beer city, a best place to retire … whew! If you are thinking about moving to Lincoln, get ready to take lots of bows as you’ll be a part of this city’s many accolades.
The dynamic, vibrant, and progressive city you see today began as wild salt marshes. The city was founded in 1856 as Lancaster, but the name was later changed to honor President Lincoln. In 1869, the University of Nebraska was founded. Today, the Cornhuskers football team is a point of pride in the city, so be ready to cheer them on.
As a major Midwestern city, you’ll find a lot of charm mixed in with those skyscrapers. Yes, Lincoln is urban, but it’s the urban core of an otherwise rural state, filled with all of the things you love about the Midwest – the open prairies, the farmhouses, the open sky.

Property Ratings at Magic Hills
The photos give a false reality to the actual presentation of this apartment complex. I believe those photos were taken the second they finished the landscaping for advertisement reasons. There is always trash blowing all over they grounds. The interior hallways are riddled with dents, scrapes, markings, gum, dried food, stains, and more. I have lived here for over a year now and since then they have only sent personnel to clean and maintain the property twice, (that I have seen), which consisted of vacuuming the floors. Yes the building looked nice but the property managers spend no resources to keep it looking that way. The ground molding is breaking away and falling off the floor everywhere, the main entrance door handle has been RIPPED OFF x11 times NO I'm not joking. Each times it takes weeks sometimes over a month to get fixed. Your forced to pull the door open with your key hoping to not break it off in the lock. People that don't live in the buildings just ripped the door hard enough to pull it out of the locking mechanism. Which is a huge problem, people that do not live in the building are getting access in and out from someone, usually drunk and perpetuating everything already listed above. My particular aprt. is always losing power for some reason. I have less than average power draw, yet still I cant run my stove and microwave at the same time without tripping the breaker. These are supplied appliances not even personal. The gentleman above me set his patio on fire from a trashcan fire and the damage to the above patio and the burning ashes and melted plastic that damaged my patio has still not been fixed and its been over 7 months. Its honesty like the property owners have made it there mission to do the absolute bare minimum to keep the beautiful appeal that the property once had, in good order. Try somewhere else first!
