      Hot water is not consistent

      Hot water has been off already 5 times this year and at least 30 times each of the previous years I have been here. Not a luxury experience when you cant count on hot water.

      DON’T RENT HERE

      They charged me $900 to replace a carpet when moving out. They never told me anything about replacing a carpet at move out and don’t care. There’s dog poop everywhere. Someone got shot by the mailboxes near the tennis courts. That’s what it took for them to hire “security” who just drives by in 2 min and leaves. The leasing office also got shot up and neighbors are constantly stealing peoples packages. Please don’t move in here! There’s roaches and parking is terrible as well. I also had the ceiling in my room cracking and the one in my bathroom cracking. Maintenance had made a hole in my wall and used tape to cover it painted over it to make it seem like it was fixed.

      One Word: Roaches

      Very disappointed with the cleanliness of the apartment. Walked in on moving day to roaches crawling around the kitchen and on the carpet area. I was told on move in day that pest control had came to spray to bomb them out, but no one came to clean up before I showed up. I had to call for someone to clean the apartment before moving in my furniture- ON MOVE IN DAY. Roaches in the kitchen and crawling into the apartments from the vents. For the first two weeks they were very bad I didn't sleep there. Lesser sightings now daily, but still too much to see per week. They're coming out through the heating/AC vents- adult sized ones which creeps me out because the apt is a small studio. So when they come out I see them right away. I still haven't put any toaster/microwave appliances on my counter or a garbage can in my kitchen for fear of attracting them. Doing my best to keep the kitchen/counters clean, but if they're coming through the vents then it's a building problem or other tenants are just gross. Can't really control what other tenants do but mangement need to treat the entire complex and keep up with keeping them at bay. Wish I could have my money back. I HATE ROACHES. Also walls and floors aren't soundproofed. I hear everything the upstairs neighbors do. Gave it 3 stars because the apartment is actually cozy and has potential if they kept the pest problem under control. So I really really hope they fix it entirely.

      Highly Recommend Township in Hampton Woods!

      After many weeks of searching for a new apartment and feeling very frustrated; I came across Township in Hampton Woods. As I drove in the community, I first noticed the beautiful grounds. The apartments have wooden enclosed patios that I fell in love with and the greenery/trees/paved walkways among buildings have a homely feel. Stephanie, complex manager, and Krystal assisted me with many questions both by email, phone and in-person with patience and timely responses. They showed excellence in customer service as well as the friendliest welcoming I have had in my apt. searches. Krystal gave me an in-person tour of the facilities; the fitness room is large with very nice modern equipment and nice size window views; the laundry room washer/dryers looked clean and maintained; and the pool area is a nice size with plenty of chairs to relax in. There is a nice area to sit in front a large fireplace, I believe this a commons area/clubhouse with internet café. I was introduced to the maintenance supervisor, who I had the pleasure of running into during two visits and was very kind and personable. I must say these folks made me feel at home, welcomed and a very easy process to secure an apartment. I do not move in for a few weeks and will share more of my experiences afterwards. Lastly, the area is perfect for walking distance to food lion grocery store, banks, shopping centers and about two blocks from the Peninsula Town Center. I highly recommend Township of Hampton Roads Apartment community and very appreciative to Stephanie, Krystal and Tommy!

      Save your money!!

      This complex is not what it seems. Roaches everywhere, you can walk on the sidewalk to your apartment door and you will constantly see roaches crawling on the walls and sidewalks trying to enter into your home. You pay for pest control monthly but the only way they will come out is if you put in a work order and it is only available Tuesdays only. And when they come out they spray one area. Leave and your seeing more roaches then you did before they came. Poop from dogs is everywhere. Residents do not clean up after there dogs. The walls are thin!! You can hear everything the person above you says and every time they walk across the floors. Rent is extremely high for you to never have hot water! When the hot water goes out it takes them almost a week to get it handled and cut back on. God forbid your water goes out on a Thursday or Friday, they will not address the issue until that Monday so you will have no hot water for the whole weekend. And the leasing office response is “well you do have water so there’s nothing we can do until we get an outside contractor to come”. This place is not worth your money.

      Great Place

      The staff and the maintenance staff are great. The whole experience has been one of the best I have experienced. They have bent over backwards to accommodate my special requests. Even me being disabled they still find ways to help me. Great place!!!

      Not the home you want

      If I could rate these apartments a zero I would. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone. Surrounded by trees which obviously comes with bugs but they don’t tell you you’re charged for pest control monthly and the pest guy doesn’t even come every month to your apartment. You can get added to the list but when you go up front to ask they seem irritated and chances are you don’t even get added because pest guy never comes by. There are many spiders and cockroaches! Front office people say it’s “normal” sorry but it’s disgusting. Front office people not friendly although they got a new staff so these ones might be. Washer/dryer combo is the worst decision these apartments have made. Takes twice as long to do one load and clothes come out incredibly wrinkly. Loads have to be very small and almost impossible to wash blankets. There is a laundry room on site but you’re charged for the card to use the room as well as have to put money on the card. Fitness center isn’t bad but something always seems to be broken. Business center is only during office hours and printer never works. Dishwasher leaves residue on glasses. You are charged 45 monthly for the convenience to pay your rent online and to put in work orders if you do not put the work orders in online front office seems irritated that you asked them in person. Maintenance guy is great. Only good thing about these apartments is the location but there are plenty of better apartments in the same area.

      They will take every penny they can from you

      These people are criminal with the fees they charge for cleaning at move out. If I could give 0 stars I would. It looks nice at first but living there you notice how bad it is. There's animal poop everywhere. Management acts nice when you're apply but as soon as you move in they turn cold and have a problem with helping you with anything. Their maintenance people barely know anything. I had a problem with my washers cold water when I first moved in and told them what it was and how to fix it. They disagreed, and left without fixing it. I reported it again a week later and they brought someone else in and he did exactly what I told them to do to fix it. My experience here was nothing but terrible. Unless you would like to over pay for everything and more than another months rent for move out cleaning I would not move here.

      You deserve better, save the stress!!

      When first moving to Township I considered it home after dealing with issues from a previous apartment complex. I don't even know where to begin, but maybe a year after living here we were robbed. The living conditions and environment drastically declined shortly after. People were kicking in doors,breaking into cars, etc. When we were asked to transfer apartments, it was a big deal and the management team seemed to not care; probably because they are used to these type of situations. Moving into the new apartment (at Township) I still did not feel safe. The doors are not secure, especially living on the first floor. Listed below there are bullet points as to issues that I experienced at Township. . Everything could be heard through the walls in the complex. . Constant issue with bugs, although they have pest control come, but I only witnessed them spraying twice in the 2 years we were there and they NEVER changed out the air filters. . There is ALWAYS an issue with finding parking, simply because guests and abandoned cars were allowed to park anywhere they like, effecting paying residents. . Dumpsters are always filled up causing cockroaches around the complex at night . The gym equipment is always broken or stolen. . The carpet that they install in the homes lifted up the first 2 weeks in BOTH apartments that we were in. . You often would hear gunshots in the area, loud music. .The washer/dryer combo takes FOREVER to work, it and the garbage disposal backs up into the dishwasher, which we NEVER used or even opened. Later got charged for it after the moveout. I would NOT recommend these apartments to anyone, especially since the new management came in. RUN! They are PETTY and very two-faced.

      CRIME RATE IS TO HIGH!

      When we first moved in to Township we loved it. The area is really nice, the facilities are really nice, the staff is really nice, and it is so close to everything you'd ever want. I should say we used to love this place. Crime rate is sky rocketing. The refuse to fix exterior lighting that either flickers or doesn't stay on, vehicle break ins happen a few times a week, people SHOOT at each other in the parking lot, and the other night an active duty military member was ROBBED at gun point. That wasn't the first time someone has been robbed at gun point at township either. During the day the place is beautiful but once nightfall hits its like you have to fend for yourself for safety. I FEAR for my family's safety here. I'm deployed right now and I'm afraid that ill get a phone call saying my family was robbed or worse. I'm moving them out of here as soon as possible. DO NOT MOVE HERE! I own many of guns and am well trained with my firearms and I STILL don't want to live here.

      Bed bugs

      This place looks beautiful on the outside but inside my apartment has been nothing but a disaster, always something wrong with the apartment first day of move in we had to clean draws out in the kitchen because they had the nasty food crumbs everywhere our bedroom door fell off the team twice since being here also the washer dryer unit is garbage it can only take a handful of clothes at a time and it will take 4 hours to do that one load and your clothes will still be wet but don't worry the apartment management has a great solution after you wait the 4 hours you just hang you clothes up and let it air dry. The orkin man comes by every few month which you have to pay a small fee for by the way and honestly idk what he does because the entire time I lived here I have always found bugs in my apartment, not the final straw has been made and I have bed bugs in my apartment and ever since I told management they had already had me pin pointed as the reason they can in even though it's very likely they are in a walls and are in multiple units so now that somehow my unit is the only unit in the entire building I have to pay for my treatment which os fine if they had been out here to treat it's been six days and still have not had orkin come out and give my the expensive treatment I need you would think if the apartment managers knew about bed bugs in the building they would be much faster at treating them or letting the person know what's going on this whole week I had to contact them trying to figure out what the next step is and they seem to just tell me very little and say they will let me know I would never recommend this dump to anyone

      Not the Place for You

      I am currently looking for a new apartment because this complex has gotten very trashy. It was nice when I first moved in but thanks to all of the newer tenants there are now cops here weekly, trash all over, people fail to clean up after their dogs, and the tenants above me march around like elephants. I have had multiple issues with my refrigerator breaking, shelfing in the closet breaking, and water drip through the ceiling from the apartment above me. The staff is very nice but I wouldn't live here with all of the issues.

      The Township Apartments

      I live at the Township Apartments and I like the community, the all inclusive utilities that included in the rent are a real help. The proximity of the stores near my complex are convenient. If you need a nice place with really good management, then the Township Apartments is the place for you.
