Zeeland is located in Ottawa County, approximately 13 miles from the shores of Lake Michigan and 25 miles from Grand Rapids. The land was settled back in 1847, and named after the Province of Zeeland in the Netherlands.
Zeeland is recognized as an excellent destination for cross-country and downhill skiing, biking, and golf. The Downtown District hosts numerous annual events, and features a collection of local eateries with outdoor patios, shops, and salons. Restaurants along Main Street include Public, Tripleroot, and Elbo Room to name a few. Its many parks, red brick-lined crosswalks, beautifully landscaped sidewalks, neighborhood shops and restaurants, and convenient access to I-196 make Zeeland an excellent suburban city to call home.
