Theodore is a low-key suburban community located about twenty minutes south of Downtown Mobile on I-10. The area is best known among locals as the home of Bellingrath Gardens, a historic 900-acre estate that features some of the most beautiful botanical displays in the South. The community is almost entirely composed of residential neighborhoods, with a few small shops and restaurants along Government Boulevard and a more extensive retail district just north of town in Tillman’s Corner. The beaches of Dauphin Island are only a few minutes to the south, and both Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico offer great opportunities for boating and fishing.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
