Once on the mainland, I-75 and US-41 open up the broader Cape Coral and Fort Myers area.

LeeTran, Lee County's public bus network, provides limited service on Pine Island, but schedules are infrequent and most residents don't rely on it. Punta Gorda Airport is approximately 31 miles away, and Southwest Florida International Airport is about 35 miles out.

For everyday needs and larger shopping trips, the Pine Island Shopping Center sits about 4 miles north, reachable in roughly 10 minutes. Cape Coral and Fort Myers, both accessible by road, extend the range considerably for major retailers, grocery stores, or specialty shopping.

Waterfront living, world-class inshore fishing, and protected natural areas define Saint James City, a small island community on Pine Island's southern tip.
