Founded in 1863, La Salle is a private, Catholic university located north of Philadelphia. The suburban campus covers 133 acres and offers more than 40 majors. The La Salle Explorers compete in NCAA Division I as part of the Atlantic 10 Conference. La Salle is highly ranked and its graduates include Peter Boyle, the star of Young Frankenstein and the television show Everybody Loves Raymond. Other graduates include author Matthew Quick, basketball player Michael Brooks, and Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney.

La Salle is about five miles north of Downtown Philadelphia, and SEPTA's Chestnut Hill East Line quickly takes residents to the city.
