With most of its campus stacked into a 17-floor high-rise, Baruch College is the embodiment of an urban institution of higher learning. Students, faculty, and staff cultivate an academic environment specific to the city environment, and enjoy the benefits of the Big Apple’s innumerable resources. 5th Avenue, The East Village, and the Flatiron District are close at hand, putting some of Manhattan’s most exciting shopping, dining, nightlife, and entertainment just a short walk away. Several diverse performance venues are scattered around within a few blocks of the college, including the Gramercy Theatre, the People’s Improv Theatre, and the Latino International Theatre. Madison Square Park is just a couple of blocks away, and numerous smaller city parks sit close by as well. The historic 69th Regiment Armory is right across Lexington Avenue as well.
