Since opening its doors in 1926, Long Island University’s Brooklyn campus has been a key fixture in the borough’s academic community. The relatively small facility at the corner of Flatbush and DeKalb serves around 11,000 students in a variety of fields, ranging from the world-class School of Nursing and College of Pharmacy & Health Science to the unique TV Writer’s Studio.

The area surrounding the LIU campus is packed with restaurants, bars, shops, theaters, and galleries of every description, ensuring that you’ll find your new favorite hangout within walking distance. Fort Greene Park is right next door, and many more parks and greenspaces are within a few blocks. The popular Dumbo district is only a few blocks to the north, and Williamsburg is only a short subway ride away via the Green Line. The campus sits very close to the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge, making it easy to hop over to Manhattan anytime. The DeKalb avenue Subway Station sits just off the southwest corner with several more stops nearby, connecting you to the entire city.
