This private, Catholic university is located in Omaha, just blocks from the Old Market and the Missouri River. The university is best known for its School of Medicine; Bergan Mercy Medical Center, one of the university's two teaching hospitals, is considered one of the top hospitals in the country. Its original teaching hospital, Creighton University Medical Center, is the area's only freestanding emergency center. Living in Nebraska's largest city provides plenty of great food, shopping, and entertainment. Creighton University is perfectly located for exploring the beautiful nearby parks, neighboring Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Omaha's best attractions -- many within walking distance. The Old Market provides a fantastic destination for food, shops, art galleries, and live music. This historic section of Omaha includes cobblestone streets and gorgeous architecture. Other nearby locations include the Henry Doorly Zoo, the Omaha Riverfront, and Heartland of America Park. If you want to cheer on the Bluejays, look for apartments along Cuming Street and North 13th Avenue to be close to TD Ameritrade Park (home to the Bluejays baseball team), or between North 17th Street and North 20th Street to be close to Michael G. Morrison, S.J., Stadium (home to the soccer team). The basketball team plays at CenturyLink Center Omaha, which is located near the river next to Lewis & Clark Landing. Look along Dodge Street near I-480 to have fast access to both the stadium and the Old Market, just two blocks south.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
