Founded in 1853, Washington University in Saint Louis discovers and disseminates knowledge while using research, teaching, and learning to protect the freedom of inquiry. Placing a high value on learning and exploration as well as discovery and impact, WashU offers over 300 academic programs to choose from. Home to a close-knit community of individuals, WUSTL collaboratively explores intellectual passions and challenges the unknown. A variety of apartments and houses are available for rent in close proximity to the WUSTL Danforth campus. Particularly convenient areas to search for rentals include Clayton, Demun, University City, and Central West End. Interstates 64 and 170 are both accessible from campus, allowing for simple commutes and travels. A host of student organizations, intramural and club sports, and NCAA Division III Bears athletics add to a spirited and vibrant campus life. Kemper Art Museum, Edison Theatre, and the Assembly Series lectures provide plenty of on-campus events as well. WUSTL neighbors Forest Park, which contains the Saint Louis Art Museum and the Saint Louis Zoo, and sits just a short drive from the Fabulous Fox, City Museum, and Downtown Saint Louis.
