Established in 1963, Dalton State College serves around 5,000 students from around the Northwest Georgia region. Among the college’s most noteworthy offerings are its nationally-ranked business program and its programs in early childhood education and social work. DSC’s namesake hometown of Dalton is a small city of around 35,000 in the far northwestern corner of Georgia. The Dalton State campus sits along Interstate 75 on the edge of Johns Mountain Wildlife Management Area, which provides a beautiful backdrop of hills and forests.

The charming Downtown district is only a few blocks to the east, featuring a thriving business community of restaurants, coffeehouses, specialty shops, neighborhood bars, and even a few galleries and performance venues. The area features a large selection of affordable apartments, condos, and rental houses, many within walking distance of the college. When you’re looking for a change of scenery, Chattanooga is only a few minutes up the road, and both Nashville and Atlanta are easily within weekend trip distance.
