Located on the west side of Downtown Atlanta, Clark Atlanta University forms the largest member of the historic Atlanta University Center Consortium. Formed in 1988 from the merger of two universities founded in the 1860s, CAU is steeped in tradition and consistently ranked near the top of the list among Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Clark Atlanta operates a top-notch Nanoscale Science Ph. D. program, and also broadcasts Atlanta’s only Jazz radio station. CAU’s location puts you just a few blocks away from Atlanta’s most popular attractions, as well as some of the city’s best resources. The Phillips Arena is within walking distance, and an endless selection of terrific restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and entertainment venues are only a short ride away.
