The Bradenton campus of the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota is the original location of the college, positioned just a few blocks inland from Sarasota Bay. This is where you’ll find some of the institution’s key facilities, including the Neel Performing Arts Center, the Family Heritage House Museum, a Student Union, and the Mathematics Department building. The arts facilities at the Bradenton campus have received big upgrades in recent years, with a new Art and Design Building opening in 2007 and the Music and Theatre Building undergoing major renovations in 2008. The area surrounding the Brandenton campus is mostly filled with residential neighborhoods, and you can often find apartments, condos, and rental houses just a short walk away. DeSoto Square Mall is right up 14th Street, and the area’s stunning beaches are very close at hand.
