USC is one of the most famous and exclusive universities in the nation, located just minutes from downtown Los Angeles. The University of Southern California delivers a first-rate campus experience, full of beautiful Spanish Revival and Romanesque buildings, lush greenery, and an electric atmosphere. The prestigious list of alumni includes everyone from Hollywood filmmakers who got their start in the world-famous USC film school, to foreign leaders who attended the School of Public Policy. The football program is one of the most competitive is the NCAA and the school has earned over 120 national titles across its entire athletics program. Rental houses, apartments, and condos are plentiful near campus, and you can sometimes find rentals within walking distance for under $1000 per month. The southern half of campus is mostly taken up by the LA Memorial Coliseum and various museums and greenspaces, so if you’re looking for something near the administration and classroom buildings, you’ll want to stick to the north side between Figueroa Street and Vermont Avenue. Luckily, both Vermont and Figueroa are lined with great restaurants, so you’ll have lots of options when you want a bite to eat.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
