Maple Valley is situated about 25 miles northeast of Tacoma and about 26 miles southeast of Seattle, making Maple Valley an ideal location for commuters. For those who enjoy hiking, it is surrounded by parks: Rock Creek Natural Area, Danville-Georgetown Open Space, Henry's Ridge Natural Area, Black Diamond Natural Area, Lake Sawyer Regional Park, and Cedar Creek Park. A variety of shops, restaurants, and grocery stores are located throughout the city, especially along Maple Valley Black Diamond Road.
