Highland is a small hamlet in Upstate New York’s Ulster County, directly across the Hudson River from Poughkeepsie. The two cities are connected by the Mid-Hudson Bridge and the historic Poughkeepsie Bridge (AKA the “Walkway over the Hudson”), an old railroad bridge that now serves as a popular pedestrian route across the river. The hamlet is flanked by two large parks, Franny Reese Park on the riverbank and Illinois Mountain Park on the west side, providing sprawling venues for you to enjoy the region’s natural beauty.
