The story of Haslett begins with James and Sarah Haslett, the couple who founded the Nemoka Spiritualist Camp on the shore of Pine Lake -- the original name for Lake Lansing -- in the 1880s. By the late 1800s, thousands of visitors gathered at Haslett Park each summer.
