Located about 30 miles southwest of Lincoln, Crete is a Midwestern small town with plenty to offer. Crete has an abundance of cozy apartments and single-family homes at affordable prices. Crete is home to Doane University, giving it a college town feel. Despite only spanning a little over three miles, Crete is packed with enough amenities to rival major suburbs closer to the city. There’s a variety of family-owned restaurants, bars, stores, along with chain eateries and retail shops along East 13th Street and Main Avenue. Crete also houses an abundance of wonderful green spaces, including a community garden and a bark park. Crete City Park anchors the downtown area while residents camp out and go fishing at Tuxedo Park, which is nestled beside Big Blue River. A great option for commuters, Lincoln is only 35 minutes away. Heading to Lincoln for work or leisure is very easy with U.S. Highway 33 running through town.
