The Broadway Historic District is a small historic community within the Federal Hill neighborhood. As its name implies, this historic district is located along Broadway, a long thoroughfare with office buildings, art galleries, eclectic restaurants, and more. The district is also home to the Columbus Theatre, an ornate historic theater boating colorful murals, stained glass arches, and a classic marque. Along with film screening, the Columbus Theatre is also a local favorite for concerts and plays. Along with historic homes, the Broadway Historic District has a wide variety of rentals available for every budget from charming single-family homes to upscale loft apartments. To access more amenities, residents head north to Atwells Avenue which is known for its vibrant dining and nightlife scene. Downtown Providence is about a mile to west of the neighborhood so some residents can walk to the city’s best restaurants, event venues, theaters, and more if they choose. The Broadway Historic District is also convenient to several colleges including Providence College, Johnson & Wales University at Providence, the Rhode Island School of Design, and Brown University.
