Pittsburgh’s Little Italy is a charming neighborhood with an extensive dining scene. Eclectic indie shops selling books, vintage clothes, and records complement the restaurants found in the neighborhood.
The residents here are close-knit, down-to-earth, and take pride in their community. Bloomfield locals love parades and host many celebrations throughout the year. The biggest event is Little Italy Days, a three-day event of food and live entertainment. Along with colorful celebrations, the nightlife scene is just as vibrant with bars, pubs, and taverns hosting bands and DJs. Professionals, students from nearby colleges, and other groups flock to Bloomfield for a night out with friends. This popular Pittsburgh neighborhood sits about three miles east of Downtown Pittsburgh and is roughly one mile north of the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. Chatham University is about two miles southeast and Duquesne University is less than four miles southwest, making Bloomfield a central location for several major universities. Bloomfield is very artistic. There are events in the summer. My neighbors are very friendly. There's good restaurants and shops. I find it to be safe at night and well located to other places walking distance.

Since moving here about a month or so ago, we've found the neighborhood to be very walkable, with restaurants, stores and grocery outlets very handy. The areas away from the traffic of Penn and Liberty streets are quiet.terrific. The Saturday farmers market is terrific. I would have given the neighborhood a 5 star rating but it is fairly well isolated from any sizeable park or green space.

There are a lot of things to do around here. Plenty of shops, restaurants, dance studios, art studios, tattoo shops, community center, grocery store, to major hospitals (one being a pediatric hospital).
