Situated in Newport Bay, Balboa is an island community four miles from Downtown Newport Beach and less than 10 miles from Irvine. This small island is connected to the mainland via Marine Avenue. When you cross over the Balboa Island North Channel into the island, Marine Avenue brings you into the commercial strip of town. Local restaurants, art galleries, accessory shops, boutiques, cafes, dessert shops, and more line this road. The rest of the island is made up of residential avenues.
