Originally a mining settlement in 1858, Auraria is Denver’s oldest community. Today, the area houses luxury flats with skyline views, mid-rise apartments, and student housing. Auraria is best known for being home to the Auraria Higher Education Center, a 150-acre campus shared by three institutions of high learning: Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and University of Colorado Denver.

Located in the heart of downtown Denver, the neighborhood is lively with amenities at every turn. There are several parks in the and around the neighborhood including the beautiful waterfront Centennial Gardens. The area also attracts sports fanatics with the Pepsi Center in the middle of the neighborhood and is the home to the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and major music performers. Just a few minutes west, across the bridge, locals can cheer on the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High.
