Situated in Northwest Raleigh next to William B. Umstead State Park, Crabtree Valley takes its name from the popular mall located on its central east side. Glenwood Avenue, which passes through the heart of the neighborhood, contains several other shopping destinations, as well as several restaurants. But in Crabtree Valley, it's all about the mall -- with more than 200 stores and dozens of restaurants to choose from, this popular store has been a Raleigh staple since 1972.
Crabtree Valley is about five miles northwest of Downtown Raleigh and three miles north of NC State University. It is convenient to PNC Arena, Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and the North Carolina Museum of Art. With a backyard like Umstead State Park, hiking, fishing, boating, and camping are always available. Covering 5,579 acres, this large park has 13 miles of multi-use trails, ideal for horseback riding and bicycling, and over 20 miles of hiking trails.

Property Ratings at MAA Vale
From the first day I stepped onto the property until move-in day and now a month into my lease, the whole process with the Alta Vale staff has been seamless. Brand new apartments on a property that is well upkept was exactly what I was looking for. When I moved in I had no issues getting my key and no issues with anything in my apartment. The complex is quiet outside of some construction going on for townhomes, but you know that moving in. Hannah in leasing was amazing from start to finish, and everyone is professional and nice. My building is secure which I like, and they host packages through butterfly which keeps your packages secure as well. I would highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for an apartment.
Wish the noise barrier between floor levels and apartment units was better..
Great rooms, neighbors, prices, dog park, near the greenway and so much more! What else could you ask for?! Very pleased with my stay. :)
There are amenities here that no other properties in the area have! The apartments and halls are as incredible as the local staff! Can’t recommend enough!
I appreciate that Alta Vale feels like home. After being a homeowner for two plus decades, I didn't know what to expect, but the experience here has been altogether pleasant. Albeit limited, I have enjoyed my exchanges with the staff. They have been helpful and very cordial. The apartment itself is nice. Interior space is allocated with applied sense to daily life. The daily tokens, such as trash collection, have been a treat I didn't expect to have. All around, I am thankful for this community.
Moved into this apartment complex towards its opening and all the things you look for (location, property, amenities, etc.), Alta Vale does really well, and I have enjoyed. The part that has become very aggravating is the noise. Upon moving in, it was communicated that the construction to the building would be done in Dec. of '23. The noise in the intermediary was louder than I had anticipated when signing lease and unfortunately, it was failed in sharing that dozens of townhomes will be put up surrounding the property. With that being said, the early morning alarm of steel cutting and heavy machinery, etc. does not seem to go away for at least another year. The noise, along with the occupancy of the parking lot by construction equipment/remanence of an active job site, can certainly be aggravating should you work remote or not leave by 6am. Hope the experience improves sooner rather than later!

Great place to live. Conveniently located to I-40, 440 Beltline, Crabtree, Cary and North Hills. Plenty of great restaurants and shopping nearby.

Staff was really helpful when I went in, showed me different unit options and amenities. They even told me about some specials to cut cost without me asking. The place is new and super clean and it is close to everything in Raleigh.

I recently came here to tour looking for a new place before the new year. The staff was amazing! I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door and Antea made me feel right at home.She answered all of my questions and definitely put my mind at ease about the move. Everyone on the leasing staff was so polite and helpful. The apartment tour was great and the grounds were beautiful. This kind of service is few and far between. We have been living here for about 2 weeks and it's been great so far! The staff and maintenance are awesome and so helpful. The apartments are luxurious and up-to-date on all appliances. The dog park is currently being built and almost done we cant wait as our fur baby will LOVE it. I would 10/10 recommend living here.

After years of living in student housing I couldn't be more excited about finally moving into a place that felt more like a home. Alta Vale has blown every expectation I had out of the water. The area is lovely and the units themselves are great, perfect amount of space and the amenities are fantastic. The clubhouse is beautiful and the staff always seems genuinely excited to see you come through. I knew I'd like this place but quickly found out I loved it.

Moved in a few weeks ago to my apartment and everything is going well. Home is super spacious for a 1 BR, with amazing counter and cabinet space. Love the close proximity to my job at Rex hospital (5 minute drive) and Harris Teeter is just up the street(maybe 2 minutes). The greenway is suppose to open later this fall with direct access, looking forward to having that to walk my dog. Great office staff and maintenance seems friendly though I haven't had to put in any request yet. If you are looking to move to this area, definitely check out Alta Vale.

I will be moving to Raleigh in the next few months and wanted to see properties in the area. I must say this one is impressive! The office space, clubhouse, pool, are all wonderful amenities. You can even use their bicycles at no charge. (If I understood that part correctly) And the actual apartments are so very beautiful. Very light and modern. I didn't have any trouble driving right to it. And anything I need is within a reasonable distance. Even though there's still construction going on this is going to be amazing! I'm so happy I toured Alta Vale and now it is in my top three locations.

I moved in a couple of weeks ago. Here's my take: - Lots (and lots) of floor plans to choose from. - Pet friendly (there's a pet spa area, and room to run their energy off) - Had a small lighting issue, but it was addressed by maintenance same-day. - Being new construction, everything in the apartments are new and gorgeous. Very sleek/ upscale. - Property managers are easy to work with, and quick to respond when I had questions about my lease. So far, I love it. It's nearby both Glenmont Ave and Creedmoor Rd. just north of Crabtree. Great restaurants nearby!
