The hilly and heavily-wooded community of Eldersburg gives the illusion of living in the country while being just 25 miles northwest of Downtown Baltimore and 46 miles north of Washington DC. It is home to the landmark Moses Brown House, a historic home built around 1785. Eldersburg's shopping district is located near the intersection of Liberty Road and Sykesville Road. Here, you'll find several shops, businesses, and a variety of restaurants, both chain and locally-owned.
Eldersburg is set in a beautiful location, filled with fantastic parks. On the east side of town, the Liberty Reservoir is a popular boating and fishing destination. Along the south end of Eldersburg, Patapsco Valley State Park-McKeldin Area provides multi-use trails, picnic areas, playgrounds, and a disc golf course. This park is popular for fishing, mountain biking, and hiking. Located in Eldersburg, Piney Run Park has a large lake where fishing competitions are frequently held.
