Northampton is a magical city full of academics, history, and the performing arts. Smith College, a private women’s college focused on liberal arts, is at the center of the city and gives Northampton that college town vibe. Smith College is surrounded by incredible locally-owned restaurants, historic theaters, conservation areas, libraries, and more.
The Academy of Music Theatre is a wonderful place for local entertainment since the 1890s. Calvin Theater, another historic concert hall, is also on the list of places to visit in Northampton. There’s a strong sense of pride in this community, and residents enjoy meeting up with one another at Northampton Brewery’s rooftop beer garden.
In the area, you’ll find public schools, well-maintained parks, country clubs, and public transportation that services Hampshire County. Northampton is a vibrant college town, artistic, and a music hub.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Laurel Ridge
Awful experience here back in 2018. I had a $1500 mountain bike stolen along with over $3000 worth of fishing gear from my storage space in the basement. Absolutely no help from management even though they have record of who entered the storage spaces. I learned my lesson renting through corporations, they simply do not care about you. Stay away and find a private landlord.
lived here for 3 years with 1-2 roommates. clean and spacious apartment. friendly, responsive maintenance staff. lots of parking. very safe complex, safe area of town. overall a really nice place to live.
These are hands down the noisiest apartments I have ever lived in. I heard EVERYTHING going on upstairs. I could hear the person upstairs when she was using the toilet and other things that are not appropriate for this site! Use your imagination. We could hear the tv of our neighbors to the side of us, as well as pretty much everything else going on over there, at all hours of the day, into the night. You get the idea! I spoke with two neighbors that had mice in their apartments, but thankfully we didn't have any that we knew of. If there is a snow storm, be prepared to move your car on their ever-changing times, or you will get towed and have to pay big $$ to get it out! That is what happened to us. I have never heard of management doing this to their tenants. In other places I have lived the tenant was simply responsible for getting their car out if they did not move it. On top of everything else, the management was not pleasant to deal with either. We got out of this complex as soon as we could. Not a pleasant experience at all and so expensive for 0 amenities!
