Property Ratings at Lake Arbor Towers
Don't let the gated community selling point fool you. The gate is flimsy. People can break in and out of the gate all the time. There is no security guarding the gate or parking lots. Multiple car break ins outside the gate in visitor parking. Multiple tires stolen off cars inside the gate. If you value your car and don't feel like adding additional security (ie: wheel locks, viper security alarm, etc.), then don't move here. Tires have been stolen with wheel locks on them, so you'll still be taking a huge risk. Don't ask them about security cameras. They only have cameras at the entry of the gates. What sense does that make? Why not have cameras at the gate entrances and throughout the parking lots. They honestly thought adding LED lights to the parking lot was going to help. They need to hire security and have them patrol the parking lot from 11:00 am to at 6:00 am. To be honest, this has been going on at Lake Arbor Towers for years and nothing changes. Take your hard earned money and rent from a management company that cares about your safety, property and well-being.
Apartments are decent price for what you get. Go in Bowie a little more and you will get more bang for your buck. Management aren't very nice to people if there are issues or anything that might make them DO work. They seem kind of rude. The parking lot seems to fill up a lot more than usual, I don't know if that's more people renting or more visitors, but sometimes it can get difficult finding parking at night. Neighbors can be nice but easy to hear through the walls.
Location is fine, close to the highway, shopping area for groceries, and not too far from both DC and Baltimore. Other than location (and maintenance guys, they're nice), that's all for the good! The front office people have attitudes if you bring an issue up with them (like they take it personal or something), very unprofessional! The only time they seem excited is if you're going to lease there (in the beginning), or at the events they have (maybe every 3-4 months). The neighborhood is ok, but since it's off a big intersection, there's vandalism in the parking lot, not sure if it goes inside but visitors beware! Building is a bit old, so seals on windows are drafty - in the winter, my window iced up INSIDE! Yikes! So, crime, and security isn't great. People constantly let others in, or tailgate into the lot and building, so it's not regulated too well.
The apartments are nice. Very close to freeway. My biggest issue is the leasing office. The gentleman that works there is pleasant. The two women are very rude. The don't speak. They always look like you are bothering the. If you come in to ask a question or pick up mail. They have very nasty attitudes. They are not worth moving our or not moving in,but for the money it costs to live here it be nice to have nice people around
