The Mermaid March, a self-guided tour showcasing 10 seven-foot mermaid statues, is a visual treat.
San Marcos was nicknamed San Marvelous because of its exquisite natural beauty and abundance of parks and natural areas. Anchored by the San Marcos River in the center of town, you can find locals enjoying the water year round through tubing, scuba diving, fishing, and more.

Great place for retirees. It sits on a scenic site just outside San Marcos. It is all one story apartments and accommodates the elderly well. Meals on wheels are provided 4 days a week and a covered dish supper once a month. There are various other activities for seniors including a swimming pool.
