The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Kirkwood Apartments
this place has several. Issues you need to avoid. first is parking issue, not enough parking spot, if you arrive late good luck finding a spot to park, you will be looking around for 30 minutes to fins spot or park in street, good luck finding your car back. second, people steal packages, if you ask stuff to be delivered to home, and arrive late, for sure your package will be stolen before you arrive. I asked to install camera for security refused and ignored the request I lost several new phones and other items during Christmas time very irritating. the neighborhood is terrible, is not worth the rent.

It is a small two bedroom apartment. One small kitchen and small bathroom. It is at the main floor. Parking is getting more difficult everyday. The complex has 660 apartments, nice gardens and it is next to a National Park, and the metro stop.
I moved here a couple months ago. The rent is really decent for the DC area. The apartment is small but big enough for me. It's clean enough. The neighbors are nice but the area is rougher. There are rats living in the bushes right outside. The Metro is in walking distance.
Kirkwood Apartments offers descent apartments at a reasonable price. This is the right choice if you want to be metro accessible, own a small pet or would just like to save money. Depending on which apartment you choose 1 or 2 bedrooms, the room sizes differ. The 1 bedroom apartments have a medium size common area, but a smaller size bedroom and bathroom. There is 1 closet when you walk in, a linen closet in the hallway and another closet in the bedroom. Since the closets are small the quantity of closets make up for the lack of space. Utilities are included except water and gas. During the winter seasons the complex controls the heat for each apartment, an air conditioner is provided in each unit in the common area. If you want to install an air conditioner in any other room it can be done with a fee. During the Summer the apartment can get really hot really fast. The exterior development could have better quality material for the walls, paint and carpet. This is one complex where one would need to take extra care of the walls and carpet, as they are easily damaged. Kirkwood offers free bug control every Tuesday upon request. During the Summer mosquitoes can tend to be a problem with being inside the apartment. I suggest that you tape a net around the outside of the air conditioner to prevent the bugs from coming inside. There are playgrounds in the center of the complex and a basketball court and gazebo open for all in the back. If you like to bike, walk or run there is a path that circles the complex which is monitored by park police on a daily. Kirkwood could use some technological innovation in their payment system, rent is only accepted in the office during work hours in the form of a check or money order. Parking is a hassle, as their are so many residents which makes parking very limited. They provide you with 1 free parking permit to place on your car. In the case where you have guests you can go into the office and obtain a guest parking pass which is good for about a week. Towing is active every night for those who park in the lot without a regular parking permit or guest parking pass. Overall, the complex is usually quiet and secure. Since Kirkwood is located off a main street where cops squat for traffic violations it is common to have police in the complex. Maintenance is pretty consistent and reliable. If you put in a request and they have not fixed the issue within 48 hours I would follow up on the 3rd day. A good choice with a good price!
