WARNING to anyone considering this spot: If I knew this before, I wouldn't have signed a lease here.

At first, I had a very pleasant experience with the front office. Since I was signing a lease in October (out of their leasing season which is April-September, I was limited to two lease options: a 9-month lease or an 18-month lease. I thought the 18-month lease made the most sense, but because I was unsure if I would stay for a full 18 months, I asked what the options were if I wanted to terminate the lease early. I was told the only things I would have to do would be: 1. give 30 days notice and 2. pay the buyout fee. Fast forward one year later, my husband and I had bought a house and reached out to the office to put in our 30 days notice. I was told by the front desk that wasn't an option, because they only allow 2 buyouts per month. She let me know they already had 2 buyouts for October, November, December and January, which meant the earliest I could buy out of my lease was February. Since my lease ended in April, it would have cost me more to buy out of the lease in Feb than if I just paid through the rest of the lease. They were not flexible on this at all, regardless of the fact that it was never mentioned to us or listed in the lease. When I asked where it was written in the lease I was told "It's not in there, but that's how we've always done things". This conversation coming from the same person who I spoke to initially when signing the lease and asked about the termination steps. If there is 1% of you that thinks they might need to terminate your lease early, find a different spot.

We always strive to be as transparent as possible, and we regret any confusion surrounding our early lease termination policy. While we do our best to explain the lease terms thoroughly at move-in, we understand how critical clarity is when residents are making major life decisions. To clarify, our lease agreement does state that early terminations are subject to management discretion, which allows us to balance the operational needs of the community while trying to accommodate as many requests as possible. We recognize that the buyout limit per month may not have been clearly communicated in advance, and we’re truly sorry for any inconvenience that caused. Your feedback has been shared with our team so we can continue improving how we communicate policies and set expectations. A great apartment community

Kelly Greens is a great place to live, with well maintained property, a wonderful office staff, great maintenance and grounds crews, great floor plans, all at a very good price, and the location is perfect. Their occupancy speaks for itself.

Apartments are good, Management is poor

Overall, I enjoyed living at Kelly Greens. Unfortunately, management and the leasing office has given me conflicting information on several occasions. One person tells you one thing, but then another person says something completely different and you can never get a straight answer. Before the renewal period, they said they had talked to me personally several times and were upset about how I did not know what was going on. It turns out that they never spoke to me, but only my roommate, which left me in the dark. They think they know everything, but are usually wrong and back track.

Best apartment ever

Very nice complex, friendly staff and nice workout room! The pool is a fun place to hang out and cool off. I also enjoy the scenery and great location. Only thing that’s missing is a nice dog park!

Best place ever

I am looking forward to the pool opening up. The new addition for the grills in the summer will be awesome. I love the gym. I wish there was a dog park. The grounds look awesome. All of my neighbors are really cool.

Poor Quality Apartments

These are very expensive tiny apartments with no quality amenities: no cable TV, horrible internet, small outdated unfriendly club house and fitness room, no outdoor fitness area and family playground, no security patrol, many needed garages occupied by maintenance storage and work, pools closed during hot summer months for construction, etc. Staff are very rude and unhelpful, there is constant dirty annoying construction all over the property for years, most of the beautiful trees have been removed (leaving a view of mostly buildings and parking lots) etc.

Expensive basic apartments with no amenities

These apartments are very small and very expensive...you are only paying for the location, not for quality apartments. There are no decent amenities you would expect from high-priced apartments: the pools are closed during summer for construction (who closes pools during hot summer months?!), the "free" internet is horrible, no cable TV, the club house and fitness room are completely outdated and unwelcoming, there is no family playground and outdoor fitness area, garages are often used for staff maintenance storage, etc. Additionally, the staff are very rude and unhelpful, there is no regular security patrol of the property (this is definitely needed at this property), there is ongoing dirty annoying construction all over the property for years, most of the beautiful trees have been removed from the property (now left with just buildings and parking lots!), etc. There are far better quality apartments in southeast and central Springfield!

Avoid this apartment property

These apartments are very small, vastly overpriced, and the property has had constant dirty messy annoying construction for years. The location is now very unsafe, the staff are very rude and unhelpful, and the amenities like club house, pools, and exercise room are very outdated and unwelcoming. There are far better apartment properties in southeast and central Springfield.

Great place to live!

I have been at Kelly Green for 1+ year and I couldn't ask for nicer staff and management. The grounds are kept clean and the few maintenance calls have been taken care of in a very timely fashion. Very happy living here.

Rude staff

Good location and nice grounds, but unit was super dirty and not move in ready when I moved in. The staff has been rude in pretty much every encounter I’ve had with them. I’m paying a lot of money and I shouldn’t have to deal with rude staff!

The internet is constantly down

If you decide to live here you better have an unlimited plan because their internet is always down and if you try to get a hold of the people that handle it then you are just banging your head against the proverbial wall. They have literally never called me back and they won’t answer any questions. I am having to use my data plan to post this. Then in the few times you have the “high speed” internet it is literally only fast enough for one device to stream and that’s on the lowest quality settings. But at least the on-site staff have always been kind and helpful so there is a plus. If something is done about the internet problem I will post a five star review if I can just get my 2 Mbs per second internet back. Please please please do something about it. Aside from the internet issues this is a nice place to live. But for real I am going broke paying for my cell overages.

Poor management, terribly rude manager

Today while we were moving my daughter out, the apartment manager entered the home with her own key at 9:52 am. We were downstairs loading the car while she told the roommate that she had 8 minutes to get out because she had a paint crew waiting. She also stated that according to the lease agreement they must be out by 10am. Note that today is the last day of the month which was the date provided on the vacate notice, rent is paid through the 1st, and the manager entered (without permission) BEFORE the time she herself quoted of 10am. Additionally, she verbally harassed these girls, laughed at them, and told them they would have to immediately put their belongings in the breezeway to allow the paint crew access. Also, she claimed she had made multiple attempts to reach my daughter by phone and claimed her mailbox was full. I printed my cell log - last call was 6/5 (asking for maintenance access to repair a water leak in the apartment downstairs from them). When i confronted this "manager" by phone, she was unprofessional, she lied twice, and she said she would hand deliver a copy of the lease to me at the apartment. Instead of coming to discuss this management issue in person, she sent a new employee that had been with them only 3 weeks. Unprofessional, once again. Anyhow, he brought the vacate notice signed by the roommate that said NOTHING about the 10 a.m. time she quoted. The other papers appeared to be the standard 20 page lease agreement with a highlighted section showing the lease end date of 6/30 at 10am. Regardless, the manager was completely inappropriate, rude, lied, and was WRONG to enter the apartment without permission and harass these girls. Not to mention her cowardess of not talking to me about the problem face to face like a manager. There is no reason to ever treat a tenant/client the way i witnessed these girls be treated today. Ridiculous

Very Rude Staff

To say that I feel minimized by this apartment complex as a resident, is an understatement. We currently have construction going on around the apartment complex to update our buildings. During this process, we have not been notified or given any forewarning of when construction would take place on our building, let alone our apartment. Regardless of technicalities of when city workers are allowed to work, it has been a struggle dealing with the noise that these workers have been creating not only with their equipment, but with their mouths. I'm a shift worker at the hospital, and I work from 7A to 7P. Waking up on my day off, at 6:30 a.m., to obnoxious workers knocking paint off my walls to expose nail heads, is not ideal. Today I woke up to two semi-expensive decorations knocked off the wall, tools all over my deck, and my front doormat thrown aside all the way to a neighboring stairway. I called the apartment complex to ask them if they would replace my decoration, or provide a comprising remedy, because of the negligence of their workers. And all I received in response to that, was disregarding attitude and condescension from the older woman in the office. She personally told me, "Well why haven't you taken any of your decorations down in the apartment?". (Which by the way, has not been the first time she's spoken to me and my partner that way in a situation before.) Never one time were we given an apology for the huge inconvenience they've made for us. From simply getting in and out of our apartment, exposed nails/tools being left on the ground overnight, creating an almost uninhabitable living environment, to now damaging personal items that I work very hard for to cultivate my living environment. Even after calling our insurance company by making a renter's insurance inquiry, they apologized and were surprised that the apartment complex didn't take responsibility for the situation. I've read in a lot of these comments that management encourages residents to call the office in regards to their review. And as you can see, calling the office only results in blaming the victim for their situation and taking zero accountability for the results of their workers behavior. Completely disappointed in your unsympathetic staff and your willingness to use technicalities to avoid accountability as a complex.

The perfect home

I love my apartment! I've lived here for a year now and my view of Twin Oaks is amazing and it's so quiet! I live by myself and I love that I can just walk across the street to Price Cutter for groceries and all of the convenient restaurants. The pool is so relaxing and I've made a couple of new friends there. Management handles everything very quickly and with a great attitude. Maintenance has responded very quickly to the couple of problems I've had. I love the big closets, the storage is great. Parking can be a little tight when I come home late, but it's not a big issue. My neighbors are so nice, we pet sit for each other when we need to. They have just recently replaced the siding and completely replaced the stairs to my apartment and it looks great. Overall, the perfect location, great apartment and superior management!

Brown Recluse Problem

My fiancée and I both live in kelly greens, I was told before I moved in they had a brown recluse spider problem. I asked the person who showed me the apartment and it was made to feel like they have trees surrounding the area naturally there are some bugs and spiders that get in but we could get it sprayed if we saw anything. My fiancée has had one in his bed and one in his sink and after finding a full grown brown recluse walking in my bedroom again. I'm writing a review because this is a spider that needs to be dealt with or atleast needs to be upfront about having an epidemic. They are redoing a lot of the exterior, we love the neighbors and the pool. It's a lovely place but I cannot get over the brown recluse problem. This is dated May 2017 for a referrence point.

It's worth the choice - you will not regret living @ Kelly Greens Apartments!

I have been renting a 1 bedroom apt. For 3years now & am renewing the lease. I enjoy the location &I appreciate the grounds being kept well. The trees drew me to the place originally. Maintenance has shown expediency and the office personnel will gladly assist with help in whatever way they are able. The pool is a real plus. Updating the outside shows the associations intent to care for the complex. Consider renting @ Kelly Greens Apartments you won't regret your choice!

THE BEST APARTMENTS IN SPRINGFIELD

I SPENT TWO MONTHS LOOKING AT APARTMENTS TRYING TO FIND A WELL MANAGED, CLEAN, AND UP TO DATE APARTMENTS. THIS PLACE HAS EVERYTHING I NEEDED AND MORE. I HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 3 MONTHS, AND DONT KNOW IF ILL EVER GO BACK TO OWNING A HOME AGIN. ORIGINALY THIS WAS A STOP TILL I DECIDED ON WHAT HOUSE TO BUY, BUT BEING HERE HAS SOLD ME ON RENTING AN APARTMENT. ITS EXTREMELY QUIET, THE PEOPLE HERE ARE VERY FRIENDLY, THE PROPERTY IS ALWAYS ON POINT AND THE MAINTENEC CREW IS REALLY IMPRESSIVE. I WALKED TO THE FRONT OFFICE TO ASK ABOUT A NORMAL MAINTENEC ISSUE AND BY THE TIME I WALKED BACK TO THE APPARTMENT, ONE OF THE MAINTANACE GUYS WAS THERE AT MY DOOR. IT WASN'T EVEN AN EMERGENCY. THE STAFF HERE ARE GREAT AND VERY RESPECTFUL, THE AMENITIES ARE A HUGE PLUS, AND THE LOCATION IS, WELL THE BEST THERE IS IN SPRINGFIELD. EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING IS WITH IN WALKING DISTANCE. IF THERE WAS MORE STARS, THIS PLACE WOULD GET THEM. WITHOUT HESITATION I WOULD RECOMMEND KELLYGREENS TO ANY RESPECTABLE PERSON.

Great property!!!

I have lived here for nearly 5 years and these apartments are nice, affordable and just updated with all new stainless steel appliances. Any maintenance requests are always handled in a timely manner. Never had issues with loud parties or felt unsafe in any way. The pool is great and always clean and the gym is a huge plus. Property is always landscaped nicely. Conveniently close to anything and everything you would need.
