I love living at JSol! I’ve lived in quite a few buildings over the years and each one was an issue for one reason or another: bad neighbors, bad building construction, etc. JSol is about as good as it gets: friendly neighbors, quality construction and appliances, and a friendly staff.

I had no HVAC for 4 months (the entire summer) & the pipes are so poorly insulated that I hear every time my neighbors use their washing machine and it drains through my walls. Had to ask multiple times for the toilet paper holder to be repaired and it’s still broken.

Move in was unorganized and quality assurance was not checked - dirty and various items not operating properly. Unfortunately, I have had educate myself on what it is that I’m supposed to have in order to operate with the complex because no one told me anything.

I am absolutely LOVING living here! I love how new and clean the building feels and the amenities and location are just perfect! I experienced my first weekend here since moving in and the surrounding area of Ballston was so lively, even on a Sunday night!

From the beginning of June 2024 through the time of this review (the end of August 2024) and still ongoing. The HVAC has been broken within my unit. There has been no communication throughout the process from management regarding the status of the repairs. But the property demands full rent every month despite the lack of AC in the hottest summer on record.

We can enjoy the rooftop pool during the summer. It’s wonderful that we can swim not only when the sun is shining, but also as it sets in the evening and night. The sight of the pool sparkling in the twilight and lights adds a romantic touch. The equipment and water are very clean, and the lifeguards are incredibly kind. It’s a great place to invite our friends and share the fun of this pool. I absolutely love it!
After moving in during May 2024, I found the staff to be cordial and helpful, the amenities to be superb, the cleanliness to be outstanding, noise levels to be low, and the apartment itself to be well suited to my needs. I highly recommend an apartment with a balcony and on a higher floor because the views are stunning, especially when you can go outside and feel the wind. The rooftop pool, terrace, and general purpose conglomeration room give outstanding views of the surrounding area. You can see Washington Monument off in the distance while utilizing the exercise facility. All around my stay here has been excellent.

Amazing building and staff. They are very attentive and fix things quickly! The area is amazing, close to many shops, bars and restaurants but the building itself is quiet and people are generally respectful neighbours.

The building is nice, the security is high, it has all the amenities you need, the people who work in the building help you with whatever you need, the neighborhood is quiet, safe and with many services.

Staff are lovely, never have an issue with rudeness or being unable to reach anyone. Gym is great and clean, and well-equipped with what you need for a full-body workout.

The concierge service is probably my favorite aspect of living here (outside of the amenities, of course!). It’s great knowing we have someone available 24/7 to help us with whatever we need and to accept packages on our behalf. Having the maintenance staff in the building at all times also makes me feel safe, even though I haven’t had to use them outside of working hours, because I know if there is an issue they are quite responsive and friendly.

Have lived here for about a year. Love the location, staff, amenities. Pirouette downstairs is lovely too! And the new nail salon, Aurora nails. Highly recommend!

Very nice apartment that looks very new and has lots of amenities. Reliable mail services. However, there is no parking available for visitors/guests which is unfortunate when paying so much.

I love living at J Sol. I have moved around the area a lot because I always found myself in a building or neighborhood I wasn't happy with. Not anymore. Living here has been such a positive, relaxing, and pleasant experience. We truly are a community.

The views are amazing from the higher floors and the terrace. This building offers the best swimming pool in the area. Neighbors could be quieter. That is the only downside.

Great apartment and facilities. Gym is very nice. However, rent is too expensive and was raised a lot during lease renewal. Trash chute is broken on a regular basis.

Love JSOL and all it has to offer to its residents. I have been living here for the past 3 years and have enjoyed every single second. The staff is amazing and super friendly a long with all the residents.
Management literally threw away people's personal belongings from the garage a day before the deadline they set to remove it. They charge ridiculous prices (both for rent, parking, and utilities) for what is quickly becoming average amenities in Ballston.

We’ve lived at J Sol two years and loved our time here—the apartment style, floor plan, location (near Ballston shops and restaurants, only a block or two for metro or various easy bus connections), and the staff. Concierge and maintenance staff are responsive and friendly, always accessible. Management and leasing staff are so helpful and personable. We’ve enjoyed the amenities—especially rooftop relaxing with good views of DC: the fireworks on the 4th were great. The lifeguard at the pool— and later the maintenance staff—were so sweet once helping find my grandson‘s toy caught in the pool filter. One little interaction, but why this has felt like ‘home’ not just an apartment. The apartment design and quality were top of dozens in this area I toured before renting. Maintenance and cleaning staff keep up the common areas constantly. A few fixes have been minor and addressed quickly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend J Sol, or to move back.

Great building with modern finishes and sleek clean look. Amenities are the best I have seen in this area (Ballston-Virginia Square-Clarendon-Court House) and I couldn't be happier with living here. Maintenance is extremely attentive and diligent whenever there is an issue and the common spaces are kept clean. I really have nothing negative to say about living at J-Sol.
