Dublin, OH is a suburb of Ohio's capital city, Columbus. Because of its location, Dublin residents can access all of the attractions in Columbus, including those of the Ohio State University (OSU). Dublin has a high percentage of residents with Irish heritage and its St. Patrick's Day and Dublin Irish Festival, held in August, are quite popular. The festival is one of the largest Irish festivals in the United States.

The Columbus Museum of Art is an excellent museum to visit, as is the The Wexner Center for the Arts on the OSU campus. The Wexner Center features contemporary art and performances. Columbus also hosts the Franklin Park Conservatory, a lovely botanical garden, and COSI, a museum for science and industry which is a lot of fun to peruse for both adults and children. Dublin has its own theater, the Abbey Theatre, which features cultural presentations, plays and musicals.

Dublin is part of the vast Columbus, OH sports scene with the OSU sports teams known across the U.S. OSU is part of the Big-Ten Conference bringing in Ohio State fans from across the country. Besides the famous Buckeyes, there are lots of sports activities for families in Dublin proper. Part of the PGA tour, the Memorial Tournament is held in Dublin each year bringing in major golf players.

Dublin has numerous parks including swim facilities and bike paths for the avid biker. Interested parties can learn all about nature in the parks' nature education programs. There are also sports clubs and Little League teams for participants of all ages as well as additional facilities that are attached to OSU open to the public.

It is very hard to choose the best restaurants in Dublin, because there are so many excellent ones. La Chatelaine French Bakery & Bistro features unique baked goods in a warm setting. Tommy's Pizza has the best pizza in town, however for full Italian fare visit Moretti's. If you like Asian fusion, Blue Ginger is a good choice featuring sushi and other delicacies while Kihachi Japanese restaurant offers authentic Japanese specialties. Anna's Greek Cuisine was voted Best of Columbus for delicious low-cost Greek food and desserts. El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant is a great place to head with your co-workers to grab beer and burritos. For authentic Irish food and beer, Dublin Village Tavern can't be beat in the center of Historic Dublin. They feature Shepherd's Pie and Irish Kettle Dinner as two of their entrees.

Shopping

Shopping is a lot of fun in Dublin with a variety of stores to choose from. The Mall at Tuttle Crossing is full of the latest fashions and popular stores to keep updated. Historic Dublin is filled with independent shops, boutiques, Irish-themed stores and jewelry stores. This area is easy to walk and you can spend an entire day visiting shops and dining in some of the city's best restaurants. The Shoppes at River Ridge offer women's and men's fashions, bridal consulting and salon and fitness facilities. Dublin also has a range of factory outlet stores and thrift shops for the bargain hunter.
