The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Highlands of Marin
I and my roommates absolutely love living at Highlands of Marin. It is a beautiful community with great staff and lovely views throughout the property. Throughout the 3+ years we have lived here, the staff has been wonderful, supportive, and quick to respond any time we have had a service request. Steven and Jonathan are quick and efficient, and we are feel like we matter and are important. Gunther and Jamie always available to answer questions and take care of anything related to our lease. It is a privilege and a pleasure living here. Thank you Highlands team.

Thank you for your excellent review! We are glad to hear you are having such a wonderful experience and enjoying your residency. Our team at Highlands of Marin strives to give each of our residents the best experience possible. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks again for the feedback! Warmest regards, Callie, WeCare@udr.com
UDR Management company is a disaster to work with. The customer service does NOT have your best interest in mind. If you miss a payment even by a day they will assess an absurd $110 fee which they will not waive no matter what. Additionally as the property goes it is old. The equipment in the apartments especially the laundry is terrible and uses a lot of water. Every week there are police cars for some reason or another. Many of the residents do not pick up after their pets. And lastly the resident app where you pay and request maintenance is confusing, convoluted and a waste of time.
Property Manager at Highlands of Marin, Responded To This Review
Hello, We are sorry to hear that you have not had a positive experience in our community. Per the lease contract, rent is due on the 1st of every month. Failure to pay your rent balance in full will result in a late fee. Sadly, crime can occur in any community. Though we provide many deterrents, we cannot completely eliminate these situations. We always encourage those who experience suspicious or criminal behavior to contact the police as they are best equipped to investigate and assist. We are sorry to hear there are areas of the community not being properly maintained. If there are areas of the community needing attention, please submit a service request and a member of our team will address it. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Kind Regards, Madison
They don’t return phone calls. Front desk in person welcomes applicants, gives information saying you can qualify with bank assets exceeding $100,000 Yet out of state headquarters will deny you and not return phone calls for four days. Tried calling “ local 724” number 6 times for status update. No answer. Terrible. Don’t waste your money on an application.

Hello, We are sincerely sorry for your poor experience and trouble getting into contact with our team. Please feel free to reach out to us at WeCare@udr.com and we will be happy to assist you. Kind regards, Rachel C.
We have lived here for over 6 months now and had read the reviews and recognized certain risks/poor reviews coming in. I am now regretting that risk. While the apartment is nice, grounds are pretty and the onsite maintenance guys are friendly, senior management and facility maintenance leaves much to be desired. Anticipate at least an additional $150-$200 monthly on top of your rent and PG&E utilities for water, trash, and energy even through they cant explain the difference in energy and the PG&E bill you pay. We have been inquiring about this ever increasing bill for months with no resolution and clear answer. The hot tubs were broken for over 3 months this summer with continual excuses as to why. They do nothing to enforce parking, despite making you pay for unreserved and more for reserved. They claim to have onsite security, but whoever that is constantly lets people illegally park in handicap spots and firelanes and there are constant complaints in the community forum about missing packages. They also don't seem to do anything to prevent or remove grills illegally and unsafely on balconies, despite city ordinances and a recent fire response. O, and we are going on two weeks with an uninsulated hole in the ceiling from a roof leak. But you know, the dog park is nice, and finding a pet friendly place in Marin is tough. The gym is also nice when bros aren't blasting their music so loud noise cancelling headphones fail. They also seem to be catering more towards short term/corporate rentals, which means people come and go without caring about the community or the consequences of their actions. If you choose to move here, I hope you have a positive experience, many people seem to, but when it goes bad and you are paying as much as you will, you may end up looking back at the old bad reviews like we are wishing we hadn't taken the risk like we are.
I have been living here since 2 years, these are one of the best if no the best apartments in San rafael. The community is very nice and scenic. Maintenance is top class, two great pools and an excellent gym. Parking is ample and office staff are great.
