Nanuet is a suburban hamlet within the town of Clarkstown, located about 25 miles north of Manhattan. In addition to the close proximity to New York City, Nanuet also sits adjacent to the facilities of Urban Electric Power and Pfizer in neighboring Pearl River. At the center of town, the Shops at Nanuet mall anchors an extensive retail collective that stretches across much of the hamlet, with more large shopping centers like the Palisades Center nearby as well. Harriman State Park is just a few minutes to the northwest, providing a terrific venue for outdoor recreation anytime.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I wanted to get into this development as the apartment was very nice and the community seemed to be nice as well. Jaz in the leasing office was not the most communicative when it came to follow up as I had to call repeatedly to get a return call but overall, she was very nice. Unfortunately, I wasn't approved for this apartment because the person living with me didn't have the best credit score, however I couldn't understand because my score was good, I met the salary requirements, and I stated I would pay one year rent up front. I offered to show my bank account and offered to write the check upfront, but I was still declined for an apartment and even though I asked to speak with the management office about this my requests were ignored. I don't feel Jaz advocated for me as she seemed to be not really interested in helping. I guess everything happens for a reason.

Have called this place home for many years. Maintenance staff is informative helpful and friendly. Leasing staff is always responsive and extremely nice always get a call back right away Jen is a multi task expert who has always found a way to make sure that I am taken of. Very dog and kid friendly and safe place to walk and live. Neighbors are all helpful and nice
Absolutely shocking! Highlands Nanuet's conduct is nothing short of a disgrace. Despite never signing a lease or stepping foot in the apartment, they callously charged me a substantial holding fee of $3,494. What's worse? They adamantly refused to provide a refund, hiding behind their non-refundable policy, despite the fact that I had to cancel due to unforeseen family circumstances. I gave them well advance notice, but they showed no empathy or understanding. This level of unfairness and lack of integrity is absolutely unacceptable. Highlands Nanuet shows a complete disregard for customer satisfaction and ethical business practices. I urge anyone considering renting from them to steer clear and find a more reputable and trustworthy rental provider. In a just world, this review would serve as a warning to others, shedding light on the deplorable practices of Highlands Nanuet. They deserve no praise and should be held accountable for their unjust actions.

Luke, We are sorry to see your 1-Star review of our community. We hear your frustration, however, ask that you acknowledge that during each step of the application process you were told both verbally and in writing that the holding fee was non-refundable. We did nothing callously nor did we hide behind our policy. We assure you, our entire team works hard to provide the absolute best customer service both before moving in and once someone becomes a Resident. We are sorry this situation did not go as you hoped and wish you only the best in your search for a new apartment home. JCMLiving Resident Services Team
