Located about 40 minutes northwest of Newark and New York City, Westwood is a quaint, wooded borough perfect for renters interested in a small-town vibe. Westwood is best known as being the “Hub of the Pasack Valley” because of its vibrant, trendy downtown district that brings in visitors from across the county. Downtown Westwood houses a variety of charming local eateries, specialty shops, and more.
Have a family day at the Big Playhouse, an amusement center that mimics a town perfect for whimsical imaginary adventures, or catch a film at Westwood Cinemas, an old-school theater showing today’s biggest blockbusters. When residents aren’t enjoying downtown, you’ll find them spending their time outdoors at one of Westwood’s many parks. Westwood is dominated by green space on the east part of town, making outdoor recreation very popular. Pascack Brook County Park is great for fishing, picnicking, or playing sports such as softball, tennis, and basketball.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Highlands at Westwood
The management and staff are fantastic
All staff are responsive to requests for service.
its a geat place to live my schnauzer and i love living here
Too expensive for a apartment long term!
From the outside the place looks lovely. But they do not vacuum the carpets they are always dirty. Doors are broken and never fixed. The main ten was always fixed things temporarily and the same issues always happen after they “fixed” it. Office is not always friendly or helpful. It is not worth the price.
It's easy living, people are nice, apartment was clean.
Very pleased with the complex and staff.
Professional and diagnosed problem immediately and waited until I was satisfied and he made sure the repair was satisfactory
It is a very safe community to live in.
It's a safe, clean community with easy access to all major highways and an easy commute to NYC. The apartments are clean, modern and have a washing machine and dryer included. The amentities are nice and there is always plenty of parking. The grounds are kept clean and neat. The spring landscaping is always beautiful. The Office Management Team is always willing to help. They go above and beyond to ensure all residents are safe and happy. Well worth it!

Thank you so very much! JCMLiving Resident Services Team
Clean, friendly, updated, quiet, nice pool, plenty of parking. I wish there was a lock-up storage area on site.
I like the people that live here and work here Everyone is treated with respect. We care about each other
I would & have recommended this community to friends & so far two of my friends have moved here & love it.
The apartment size is very spacious. The grounds are excellently maintained. Needed repairs are done quickly.
This is a well kept community and also very safe.
This community (aside from a few residents) is a joy. People are all very nice to each other and very social. There always seems to be a good deal of activity created by workers here as well as just the community members. Very friendly (again, aside from a few residents who are just miserable people) atmosphere.
I recommend it to many of my friends but the price is too high for them with kids!
For all of the above positive aspects of life at The Highlands, I would recommend this community
I love the "community" feel of the complex. While walking around, I could sense a friendly, safe environment.
I’ve lived at the Highlands for over three years and love it. The apartments are spacious with walk in closets and lots of windows with natural light. The amenities such as the heated swimming pool and yoga room are beautiful. The maintenance staff is top-notch and the office staff is very professional and helpful. The community hosts many monthly events such as pot luck dinners, book clubs and kids crafts. It really is a great community filled with good people.
the grounds are lovely and well kept. the apartment could use more closet space and better lighting plus storage facility. since I just moved here I have not had the opportunity to meet my neighbors.
For those who can pay a high dollar rent monthly the Highlands offers a lovely and safe environment. Residents are offered welcoming community experiences as well as respect for the need for privacy. The office staff makes all of us feel valued and appreciated. Our questions and needs are met promptly and efficiently. The needs of our pets are given equal consideration...which cannot be overstated! This is an excellent place to call home!
We lived at the Highlands at Westwood for roughly 1.5 years. During that time, we received awful service from a lying staff comprised of inexperienced people who are put into positions of power. They do not hesitate to charge you fee after fee after fee. It never ends, and these people are absolutely horrible. You have to stay away from this awful place.
I have been living in my Highlands at Westwood apartment for almost 2 years and I love it. Its more than a standard apartment complex. The apartments have recently been renovated and they are stunning, top quality and luxurious. The grounds are lovely, always well maintained with beautiful landscaping, a great pool and spacious courtyard that allows me to enjoy some outside living. There is such a sense of community, friendly people and a great staff. The apartment managers, Lisa and Angela, are always so friendly and attentive. If an issue arises they are quick to respond and solve it in a timely manner. Freddy runs a professional and excellent maintenance staff; the buildings are always so well maintained. I am so happy I found this place, I really feel so at home here, I would and have recommend it to my friends and work colleagues.
