The dominant feature of Pittsburgh’s Highland Park neighborhood is that namesake park itself, a massive public greenspace that almost completely encircles the residential portion of the community. Residents enjoy an environment filled with playgrounds, sports facilities, gardens, footpaths, bike trails, scenic waterfront views, and the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium.

Infrastructure and management are awful. We lost thousands in personal property damages living here due to leaking garages and basements and intermittent loss of power and water. No hot water or heat in the middle of winter. And management is completely incompetent. People are moving out in droves. Don’t fall victim to this “luxury living” building

Once you sign the lease you’ll never hear from the property manager again. The building constantly loses water and power and the property manager is nowhere to be seen or heard from in these times. I suggest avoiding Highland House Together at all costs.

Never ever live here!! NEVER!!!!! THE UNITS HAVE MOUSE!!! The management sucks big time! When a maintenance request is submitted it takes them weeks to respond. As I’m typing this review it’s been a month since I told the management that I’VE SEEN A MOUSE in my apartment and asked them to do something about it!! What did they do you ask? Good question, NOTHING!!!!! Oh by the way, I SAW THE MOUSE AGAIN tonight and I’m super frustrated about everything related to this apartment and its management!!! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NIGHT SIGN A LEASE WITH THESE GUYS!!!!

This building looks nice and the apartments are large and roomy. However, the apartment building does not function well. I've had several days of cold water. The heating and cooling at times are not sufficient to keep the apartment rooms warm and at times the garbage piles up in the back and it's unsanitary. The only other good thing about this building is the other residents who are generally nice, but also fed up with the buildings. Buildings poor maintenance.

Proceed with caution, this place looks to be beautiful from the outside but once you peel back the layers, you see its true colors. The management of this building is AWFUL, they are unresponsive and rude. This place is marketed as a "Luxury apartment" however there are NO luxury features. NO garbage disposal, NO assigned parking, NO trash shoots, NO building security, NO ice maker, NO ability to climate control your apartment, etc. My wife and I have been living in the building since June and we have maintenance requests that are STILL not addressed, one of which is to replace a window in our master bedroom that has a full blown CRACK going all the way across the window! Our apartment does not have heat, apparently the heat has to be "flipped on" and its been scheduled to be "flipped on" for weeks, yet our apartment temperature is down to 65 degrees in our apartment and management continues to dodge the issue. Also, DO NOT pay to park here - they try to charge you $70/car for parking in the outside lot however there are no assigned spots and guests/contract worker constantly park in our lot leaving those of us paying for spots to often have to park on the street! Again, management does not address this nor is flexible with ways to accommodate. Leaks in the lobby, floods in the basement, trash overflowing from the dumpsters and elevators not working all over the common areas are a frequent occurrence. For the money you pay to live here, you would expect MUCH more and this place falls flat. Outside of being in a great area, this place has not much going for it.

Not luxury by a long shot. Great view but Albion cut corners everywhere they could. Lost residents can’t wait to get out of here. Ask a LOT of questions - even the no brainers like “will I have a garbage disposal?” (No) “Ice maker?” (No) control over my heating and air conditioning? (No). A trash chute? (No) Lit parking (Sometimes). Get the idea?

I've lived here since July and it has been nothing but a nightmare. Don't get me wrong, the place is nice aesthetically, great views, but the maintenance and management of the building are an actual nightmare. We have been without heat or hot water on/off for almost a month now. Elevators are constantly shutting down. Busted pipes. Management entered my unit while I was out of town and "forgot" to lock things back up to where my place was left open for weeks. For this the leasing manager gave me a $50 gift card and refused to answer emails or phone calls. They never answer emails or phone calls despite all these issues. If you want a place that is actually livable, ESPECIALLY for the cost of rent at this place, stay away.

With the new management change, I couldn't be happier with the changes that are happening and the amazing plans that are in place for the community. The renovation finishes are beautiful, the plans to renovate and add additional amenities will take my long-time home to the next level. Our community has a great location, and the history makes The Parklane one of my favorite places in the city. I can't wait for the first renovations to be complete and to transfer into my new apartment!
Love the location. A few steps away from parks, the zoo, coffee shop and restaurants. Quick commute downtown/northside. Offers a suburban feel in an urban area. Apartments are spacious with nice views. However, it's an old building, so you're paying for location not updated. Heather, Pittsburgh, PA
This building is very old and it shows. The elevators often breakdown, but maintenance is quick to fix it. The price is good for the amount of space. There is tons of open space in theses apartments!!
The Parklane is a beautiful place with remarkable cool architecture. The giant windows in every room brighten the place up and give it a unique feel. The wood floors, air conditioning, and giant kitchens are all strong points as well. The building is right next to the park, with access to walking paths and green space. The building is generally very well maintained. Some fixtures in the units are old (towel racks fall off the walls, for example); getting to the dumpster is something of a process, and each apartment is assigned a laundry schedule. Aside from these minor inconveniences, the Parklane has been a fantastic place to live and one we'd recommend to anyone.
