Property Ratings at Heritage Oyster Bay
Construction never ends. I have to assume that's the reason for the huge rents. Leaving when lease is up.
If you notice, many of these reviews are several years old. It's a good complex but the rates have gone through the roof the past few years and services have been cut. While I like my apartment, I won't be here much longer because raising the rent over $500 in one year is ridiculous. Check out other online reviews for more recent commentary.
The property is very well maintained, and the response by the maintenance team (on the rare occasion they're needed) is terrific. Quiet and peaceful in our little hollow. Can't say enough about this place -- I have found my life=long home.

The people here do not have to be nice, so they are not. If you call maintenance and ESPECIALLY if you have to speak to billing for any reason they are cold and nasty. The super is nice, the residents are nice, but other than that the people who work for this company minus maybe 2 people are cold and absolutely not nice people at all. Nice apartments, friendly neighbors, and if you never have to call anyone about anything you will be fine. The woman who gave me my keys when I moved in was the rudest person I have ever come into contact with. She was transferred from another complex, I can guess why.
Lost our electricity (on one of the hottest days of the summer) due to a blown bathroom fan motor and Carl could not have been more accommodating and helpful in getting our electricity back up and running. Called to tell us the status of the part needed and it will be fixed within days. Cannot say enough good things about the maintenance staff, especially Carl and Ted. Thank you.

Bad experience, living there , rude leasing office , management office with no respect to tenants. Very fast turnover in the apts as nobody stay for more than one year
When I look out of my living room window I see what seems to be gently rolling hills hugging the complex. We are nestled in a small valley that used to be a sand pit and has now morphed into an oasis. This in the middle of a very busy suburban area in one of the busiest metropolitan areas of the country...... Long Island, New York. Less than an hours train ride into midtown Manhattan and a mere hour and a half by car to the tip of the Island, Montauk Point. Beautiful beaches and vineyards along the way. After a good workout in our well equipped exercise room the choice is whether to swim in our well maintained pool, surrounded by umbrella sheltered tables and chairs, or venture out to the malls for early holiday shopping. But that's just today.... As far as the apartment itself....gorgeous. Oversized closets, well thought out floor plan and, in my particular unit, a laundry room with a full size washer and dryer. Each building has an immaculate and well kept laundry room. I just lucked out after years at the laundromat and scored my own! Whether commuting into the city for work, raising a young family, starting retirement years or just settling in for the long haul...this place is hard to beat! Something for everyone. And kudos to the maintenance staff that keep it spotless and beautifully landscaped.
My apartment is spacious, light filled and has great sound filtering abilities. The grounds are well maintained by a large staff that drive around on these little carts and will be responsive to your pleas to fix the cabinet door that you leaned on and is now falling off its hinges. There are a mix of inhabitants... from the young, upwardly mobile, to the middle aged transitional, to the section, fondly thought of by me, as geezer gulch. The playground consists of one slide so I think we skew less toward toddler. We are close to major roadways, beautiful bucolic settings, Teddy Roosevelt's old house and tons of shopping. We have a rail system to get you into the big city, but a car is necessary for tooling around the hood. Proximal to beaches on either shore so you can choose between ocean or bay. We have a pool and a tennis court, both well maintained by the persons on the small carts, and my lovely space has great, wonderful closets. Laundry facilities are either in apartment or a very short walk away and very clean. Hmm. That's why I hear so many people say they came for a year and those other nine years just flew by!
