Property Ratings at Halstead Marlborough
Since 2020 here have been long and disorganized recurring episodes of construction, the most recent of which has paused for now in July 2023, which the leasing office calls "exterior improvements" but are actually bandaid fixes trying to resolve a moisture & ventilation issue in all the buildings creating mold and rotting wood which then leads to water infiltration as the wood rots and things like windows leak. Instead of doing something logical like fix the ineffective HVAC system and correct the humidity problem, the property owner just keeps replacing the siding and windows when they rot, and then tries to sell and offload the property but nobody wants to buy moldy apartment buildings. The leasing office sometimes has maintenance install dehumidifiers in apartments that are really bad (mine was so humid it smelled like wet paint and a dead animal), so the tenant is on the hook for the cost of running an extra appliance all the time, but again these are bandaid fixes that don't resolve the issue that there is something wrong with these buildings. A complex that's 6 years old should not require 3 years of construction repairs. All these problems cause angry residents and stressed out leasing office staff, which means people are always moving out (there's only 1 set of neighbors from when I moved in on my floor, everybody else left and it's all new people). Also, staff keep quitting. For a couple months we didn't even have a property manager because they all quit! 3 in less than a year all quit! Maintenance staff are also overworked and keep quitting. So good luck getting people to answer messages or help get things fixed when there's a problem. Any positive reviews are fake or from brand new people that just moved in and haven't had time to discover Talia's true colors. This place is a disorganized health hazard run by untrained and overworked employees who don't get paid enough to care and will quit by the time you learn their name. Stay away!

They keep having the construct project working on for the past 2 years. The inconvenience and noise are very annoying, and they still increased the rent. the office people changes frequently, in their email, they ask you to be patient with whatever they do and not interested in your stolen packages and everything. I was very upset about the 6-month long noise in just my side of the building when they did the construction. This is the kind of apartment that people should avoid.

Current resident - moved in summer of 2022. The community is in the middle of a huge construction project impacting all buildings. Replacing most apartment windows, new "blue skin" and siding. The project was supposed to be complete on 11/1/22. Clearly behind and no chance for it to be completed any time soon. Construction materials all over the property, trash lying around everywhere, and many resident parking spaces are blocked for use by construction vehicles. Our "new" windows are continually gathering condensation inside our apartment and clearly not the best quality. The community has a completely new leasing and management team. The property manager is continually unavailable to meet with residents to voice concerns about the property. On the plus side, the maintenance is top-notch.

I moved in here recently and so far have no complaints. Everyone has been so kind. My neighbors are all friendly. This is a very quiet community and the reason why I moved here. The maintenance are always on point. They come to fix any issues right away. I have also had the pleasure of dealing with Lisa. She has been amazing through this whole process. She has been very helpful. She was on top of making sure we were signed up for the free bike share program, getting us our pool passes, getting me into an available garage the same day I requested one and answering any questions I've had. She has been great. I really like living here. The pool and community room are always clean. The gym has all the equipment you can need. So far everything is great.

I moved here about two weeks ago and everyone has been so helpful! Lisa has been very accommodating and fast with all of my paperwork and lease. Today I asked for help with something in my apartment and Andy and Ricardo came right away. They were so pleasant and helpful. I love it here.

I recently moved out of my apartment at Talia. Please do not live here. They have MOLD on the entire top floor and in the stairways of every building. They had to move all of their residents out of their top floor apartments and still cannot rectify the situation. They also tried to cover it up so they could sell the property. Unfortunately no one will buy because there is so much mold in every building. Be safe and look elsewhere.
