Apartment listings that display transparent, all-in pricing generate stronger renter engagement and lead performance, according to early data from Apartments.com. The data follows a universal rollout of transparent pricing options on the rental listing site across the U.S. and Canada earlier this year.
Properties displaying a “total monthly price” — a cost total that combines base rent with required recurring fees — receive higher engagement throughout the renter journey.
Listings with transparent pricing generate 15 percent to 20 percent more leads overall and nearly 20 percent higher lead-to-lease conversion rates.
Compared to properties that do not display total monthly pricing, listings with all-in pricing also receive:
- More than 17 percent more search result impressions
- 4 percent more clicks to view the property detail pages
- 4 percent more time spent on listings
- 5 percent more 3D tour views
“The early results reinforce that renters respond positively to pricing clarity,” said Stuart Richens, vice president of product at Apartments.com. “When renters understand the full cost upfront, they engage more confidently, spend more time evaluating listings, and ultimately convert at higher rates.”
