Situated just over three miles northwest of Downtown Minneapolis, Glenwood Junction consistently ranks as one of the best suburbs in Minneapolis. There’s a diverse renter population here, including families, students, commuting professionals, and everyone in between. Residents praise the area for its attractive streets, lush landscape, nearby parks, and top-notch schools.
There’s a modest selection of restaurants, shopping centers, and entertainment options scattered around the neighborhood, the bulk of which you’ll find along Highway 55. But the main calling card of Glenwood Junction is Theodore Wirth Regional Park, and the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden. Both green spaces give the area a lush feel and make it a welcome escape from the city that lies just a few minutes away.

Property Ratings at Granite Creek
Good luck getting ahold of anyone at this place. I cannot wait until my lease it up and regret renewing it. I have lived here 1.5 years, first year was great, but it has gone way down hill. Trash EVERYWHERE. You many not be able to get in the front door but all other doors are broken and wide open for everyone to get into. Glass is broken on the doors. Kids running around all the tine, music blaring at 2AM, yippy dogs barking all night. No one cares about their neighbors and management doesn’t care either. The phone number doesn’t go directly to the ‘on-site’ team, and there is no email, not like anyone is ever here anyways. Place is a joke.
In addition to the laundry list of issues in previous reviews (most of which I've already experienced in my first two months), you are completely on your own when something goes wrong. I'm currently writing this review in a completely dark apartment as my power just went completely out. The circuit breaker is unresponsive. I called the mgmt office who "took a message" about me being completely out of power , with no ETA or steps for resolution. Who knows how long it will take but this is about as bad as you can possibly get for emergency maintenance or maintenance response. For the money, you can get a decent looking apartment, but literally everything else is there to remind you that you live in a poor managed dump. I'm the type of person who can look beyond that, as I stay home almost 24/7 -- until anything goes wrong and you're left in the dark, literally. Stay away.
To be honest, when I moved in there were absolutely no reviews for this place, so as I prepare to move out I want to ensure there is a review for future tenants. First, I personally have not seen the pest issues, but that is terrifying as reading below. It's also not surprising. The building and the grounds are kept in awful condition. There is no management on site and so nothing is taken care of in any sort of timely manner. Garbage is left literally all over the grounds and is never removed. There are "amenities" such as a gym that is not in working order and an elevator that has not worked since I moved in. Residents allow their children to play in the halls as if it is their own personal playroom. I have complained numerous times and nothing has been done. Management does not call you back. I was never contacted about renewing my lease, now as I'm moving out I can't get a hold of anyone to schedule a time to give my keys back. God only knows if I'll actually get my deposit back. The apartments have no sound proofing. They are renovating apartments, which is what sold me, but they are not worth it. I recommend avoiding this place at all costs.
Beware of the low rent prices. This apartment has so many issues including management not answering or responding to calls or maintenance requests, not keeping up with the grounds, not fixing amenities that were advertised, dogs that constantly bark, police are constantly here, super loud neighbors, violence, no parking, pests, and just all around terrible living conditions. We are counting down the days until we can move.
If you would like to live in a building where the management company is slow to respond on maintenance issues, does not reinforce rules of the complex for select tenants, has a roach infestation that they clearly cannot get control of and falsely advertises amenities that are not available & never intend to fix making them available then this is the apartment for you! No parking for guests only. It is taken by residents who do not get permits for their vehicles & New Hope tickets anyone on the street from 2am-6am. Elevator hasn't been operating for more than 18 months. building entry doors that don't lock leaving the building exposed to anyone who wants to enter. None of the equipment in fitness center works that needs power. Rental rates are increasing. I don't know why. They haven't improved conditions. Feel free to take the risk. I’ve noticed they’ve raised rent on units online but haven’t done anything to improve conditions other than make the units look pretty. Beware of the shiny surface here. Under it are layers of grime you do not want to deal with.
