Named for the body of water at the center of the neighborhood, Virginia Lake is a Reno community with an emphasis on greenery and a variety of homes.
Virginia Lake is just over 10 minutes from the center of Reno, but it looks more like a community you’d find up north. Towering trees line the streets of the older developments, while newer residential offerings in the southwest corner of the neighborhood have planted hundreds of saplings that bring an upscale feel to the streets.
Outside of the colorful homes and modern apartments is a number of different restaurants and cafes along South Virginia St., the neighborhood’s eastern border. Mediterranean, Mexican, Indian, and more are all on offer, just steps away from a popular movie theater. For those who need an escape from “The Biggest Little City in the World,” the I-80 and I-580 will carry you to Carson City or Crystal Peak Park in just a few minutes.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Golden Apartments
I was on the waiting list for years and always checking on my application progress then explained that I was homeless, then they would mail me another verification letter to turn in within 10 days after they would reassure me I was either moving along or no progress then they would pull snake move that I didn't have to sign anything until I had a approved appointment which they always had me reapply get back on the waiting list this process took me about 6 1/2 yes and finally just gave up
They wrote notices, then close the office so you can not contact them about said notice. Then when yiu actually do get an appointment they cancel it on you with NO notice. I will be sending a formal letter to the FPI management which these apartments are under. Renters BEWARE!
I've been living in these apartments for 7 years now! Pros: swimming pool, laundromat, your own parking, pretty quite apartment complex, always tided up, monthly notices of rent due. Cons: 1) there are a ton of kids in the apartment complex. I live near the office so I'm surrounded by more elder people, but more into the apartments you end up finding big family's with kids. Which isn't all too bad! Unless you don't like kids. 2) the laundromat has very poor functioning machines. They just recently installed three excellent washing machines and 4 awesome drying machines, but since it's an apartment complex, you'll usually have to wait your turn to use the machines and sometimes it's a long wait. 3) old apartments have roaches. They've been sending pest control to handle this, and my situation has been handled! 4) there is a pet fee :( I think it's around $240 or just a monthly fee of $15. Not sure. 5) some neighbors guests tend to steal parking. And then you end up either taking someone else's parking or having to park super far. It sucks But all in all, it's a good place to live in. Not excellent, but good
