Annapolis, Maryland's capital city, sits along the Chesapeake Bay, where approximately 41,000 residents call home. The downtown area features brick-lined streets where 18th-century architecture stands alongside waterfront communities. The United States Naval Academy commands the waterfront, while St. John's College contributes to the city's educational landscape. Residents have access to waterfront parks, including the 340-acre Quiet Waters Park, offering everything from kayaking to seasonal ice skating. The historic district remains a central gathering place, with independent shops, seafood restaurants, and the City Dock area, known locally as "Ego Alley."
The rental market in Annapolis reflects its waterfront location and array of housing options. Current trends show one-bedroom apartments averaging $2,151, while two-bedroom units typically rent for $2,430. Three-bedroom units have seen an 8.1% decrease in rental rates.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Gardens of Annapolis
I have been a resident for 4 years and several things could be improved upon. Former management was unsatisfactory in several ways and many residents feel this way...things overheard when residents share with others. New management I feel is more concerned about how residents wants and needs will be met. It will take few months to achieve this but patience and communication and follow up updates will be on the horizon from new managent to the residents and future residents.

Gardens of Annapolis has been a very good choice for me. My apartment is comfortable and I especially appreciate having my own outdoor space, a washer and dryer, and being within walking distance of such essentials as grocery shopping. The community is welcoming and there are plenty of activities to engage many different interests.

This has been a good move for me. My apartment is comfortable and the rooms are a nice size, I don't feel cramped. I love that every apartment has its own outdoor space and use my balcony frequently. Also, after living in a high-rise building with a laundry room for many years, I love having my own washer and dryer. I'm also grateful to be in walking distance from all the essentials, such as grocery shopping.

No comment at this time. I do feel The Gardens us a nice place to live and hopefully "age in place". It is a convenient location, nice amenities, close to necessities like The Giant, CVS and the Anne Arundel Medical Center and a host of nice areas for shopping plus the historic part of Annapolis and the Bay.

I hope this problem is spread around. We need a perminent fix as all our residents are elderly. Does the county need to be informed?

Hi there - our team strives to go Beyond Expectations for you, all day every day! Thanks for letting us know. Thank you again for the great review!
My mother lives here. She is quite happy with the two bedroom apartment. It is bright and comfortable. The other residents are friendly and the staff work hard to create a lively community. There are activities nearly every day for the residents and meals five days per week. I would highly recommend the Gardens for senior independent living.
The Gardens of Annapolis is an ideal community for those who want independent living in Annapolis that is close to downtown and outlying areas. My mother in law lived there for a number of years (she has since had to transition to memory care living) but the staff were always helpful and watched out for her, the trips and engagement programs enjoyable and her apartment was a perfect size and very manageable. The building has been recently renovated and is beautiful . The dining room, common areas, theater are all lovely and inviting, and the grounds are well maintained. The staff works with the resident and families to recommend outside resources when needed (one on one help for transportation, housekeeping, assistance after a health event, dog walking, etc) and the on-going activities and programs (like dining service for interested families if one doesn't want to cook dinners) are a huge bonus to all. Include the Gardens on your list if you are looking into downsizing to an engaging community for older adults.
