The coastal village of Lindenhurst is located along Oyster Bay in Long Island, directly across the bay from some of New York's most popular beaches: Cedar Beach, Gilgo State Park, and Robert Moses State Park. Fire Island National Seashore and Long Beach are also near Lindenhurst. Situated in the town of Babylon, Lindenhurst was founded in 1873. The downtown shopping district is filled with charming, historic architecture. The village has been home many famous residents, including game show host Jack Barry, rock star Pat Benatar, talk show host Joy Behar, and director Hal Hartley.
Residents enjoy a terrific community filled with beautiful parks. Venetian Shores Park, located on the bay, has a residents-only beach for swimming, an interactive spray park, a playground, and picnic areas. Other nearby parks include Shore Road Park, Copiague Neck County Park, Bergen Point County Park, Great East Neck, and the Bergen Point Golf Course.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Living here has been nothing short of a nightmare. Let me start by saying there is a silverfish infestation which is absolutely revolting. No matter how clean you are, these bugs are everywhere — in the kitchen, bathroom, closets ON MY BED, COUCH & KITCHEN COUNTERTOPS. you name it. It’s clear this building has a long-standing pest issue (given the other reviews on this page) that management is not able to properly address. All attempts at exterminating our unit have failed. The soundproofing is also a complete joke. You hear everything - every footstep, every slammed door, and every dog barking from upstairs and down. As if that wasn’t enough, the HVAC system is so poorly designed you can smell everything your neighbors are cooking (and not in a good way.) If someone’s making fish or frying something greasy, your whole apartment will reek for hours. It's disgusting and completely unacceptable. On top of that, management is unresponsive, unhelpful, and only seems to care when it’s time to get rent paid. There is NO way to contact or speak to a property manager or corporate to discuss issues going on. They always refer back to the same useless concierge email & the resident portal, just to respond back with the same repeated robotic answer. It’s like talking to a wall. Save yourself the stress, the filth, and the regret. I literally have PTSD from the amount of bugs we’ve seen all over that I cannot even sleep comfortably in my own bed anymore. DO NOT MOVE HERE.

I’ll admit I was hesitant about The Wel at first because of some of the reviews I had read, but after living here for six months, I’ve been pleasantly surprised and very happy with my experience. Working with Julie in the leasing office was wonderful—she was communicative, patient, and understanding, even while I was navigating a big life transition. She really helped make the process smooth and less stressful. Since moving in, I’ve loved my apartment. It has so much natural light, it’s quiet (I never hear my neighbors), and the amenities are excellent. I also appreciate that it’s just a short walk to downtown Lindenhurst. Over the summer, I even rented one of the amenity rooms for a private party, and the staff was very helpful in making it a great experience. The maintenance team has been super friendly and responsive whenever I’ve had service requests, which I really appreciate. The only ongoing issue is with the track on my sliding door—apparently a building defect that can’t be fully resolved—but aside from that, everything has been great. Overall, I’m glad I chose The Wel. It’s been a positive experience, and I’d recommend it to anyone considering living here.

I wish I could highlight the amazing things about living here and that this review was a positive one. No matter the amazing amenities, the cool restaurants nearby and the proximity of the train, the wonderful staff; living here has caused me nothing but extreme stress. There are constant malfunctions within the unit we live in. Things break almost every other month at this point - and they are important things that make living comfortable such as the AC, water heater, the dryer, the toilet...countless things that have malfunctioned in our time here. In the last apartment I lived in not 1 appliance or anything for that matter broke for my whole duration of being there. This isn't normal. I'm constantly worried about what will go next, how my life will be inconvenienced , and the time I have to take off from work to be around for maintenance. I sometimes wonder if this unit is cursed or something. Maintenance and staff have been nothing but helpful, and do the best they can and we appreciate them a lot but the daily stress it brings to me is not worth living at this apartment and I'd strongly advise not living here. Especially for the cost of living here...it's just not worth it at all.

My apartment constantly had water leaks in the ceiling. It got so bad that we had black mold starting to grow through our ceiling. They scraped it off and it grew back a few weeks later. On top of that there were constantly homeless people in the building sleeping in the amenities rooms. The rooftop was never completed. The garage and bottom floor always flooded. Fairfield stopped taking care of this building once they bought it and staff is always very rude.

People are so nice and the residents are very friendly. Very quiet and private with options for being social in designated areas.
Really disappointed NOT with the staff. But the constant building issues that shouldn’t be happening to a building that’s brand new and not a year old. Leaks. Pipes that burst and flooded an apartment t. Refrigerators not working. Cabinets falling off. Microwaves blowing fuses. The heat not fully working in the bedrooms. Elevators going down constantly (sometimes for days) mail going missing for multiple residents cracks in ceilings and walls. Bubbling on the walls in the hallway due to water damage. The staff is amazing. Friendly and always willing to help. The building was cheaply thrown together. It looks nice from the outside. But upon living there’s multiple issues that a brand new - not even year old building - should be having

The staff and our neighbors here are awesome! The staff really cares about their residence and their happiness with living here! They have events and a great community app! Everyone is so sweet and kind! Its been a lot of fun living here! We absolutely love living at the wel!!!
The Wel is a beautiful place and the facilities are very nice. The staff is amazing , the room and the apts are beautiful. Only issue is the smell of pot in the building and i know they are doing their best to isolate this. They address issues professionally and resolve them promptly.
Beautiful apartments, thoughtful kind staff, amazing ammenities. There is no place I would rather live at the current time, and would reccomend this facility to anyone who is in need of apartment living. There is nothing I would change about our life here.

This has been such an easy move-in. The team at the wel is pretty much always available if I have questions or concerns. Theyve been wonderful. I love the apartmenthaving a washer and dryer and dishwasher has just been a big change of life for me. Absolutely love it. Love the outdoor space and all the other amenties.
Once we saw this building, the apartments, amenities we were sure this should be our new home. Then once we met Christian from the leasing office we were even more sure. Beautiful apartments, and the staff could not possibly make us feel more at home. Even Carl from security has been so welcoming and made our move so easy.
More staff. the leasing office is comprised of 2 people whom are stretched paper thin. There is a huge lack of support staff, i.e. maintenance, grounds keepers. Requests go unacknowledged for days and unresolved for weeks due to backlog. Many kinks have not been worked out such as access & ability to use the fire pit and speakers in the courtyard. I waited two weeks for my hot water heaters temperature to be increased. The needs of the residents fall heavily on the leasing office, and the delays in response are ostensible. Cellular service is abysmal, across carriers, even Verizon. Under cabinet lighting in the kitchen would have been a nice touch.
Wonderfully appointed new community in Lindenhurst. Still developing with exciting amenities were looking forward to enjoying, including a pool, gym and coffee bar. Having fun exploring the area restaurants ,shops and music in the town square.
The apartments at The Wel are modern and well designed. The staff is great on every level and they make living here feel more like a community.
The Wel complex appealed to me because it is aesthetically pleasing inside and outside. I like the layout of the building - it is not just an apartment building plopped down on concrete - a lot of thought went into how it is set up. I love that it is a brand new complex. Also, a convenient location to travel and shopping made this the perfect choice for me.
The staff is excellent, Christian,Caitlin helped me a lot thru the initial process. The apartment manager Hoe is very personable and friendly and John in maintenance supervision has been very helpful. Glad to see building a relationship with the tenants is important to everyone! 5S
The Wel is a luxurious and travel convenient place to live with many amenities.
I knew with my interaction with the staff, the convenience of the entire leasing process and of course the unbelievable location that I had to sign a two year lease. I've lived in a few apartment complexes in the past, none were this smooth from tour-to-key.

The Wel is a fantastic place to live, with incredible amenities, ease of access to the LIRR, and being right in the heart of Lindenhurst with many great options to dine, drink, and enjoy yourself. The Management team is very friendly and accommodating.
