Really happy with how the building is maintained and how quickly issues and questions are addressed!

Better communication and quicker responses to fix issues. We have had multiple issues that could have been quick fixes over the past few months as we have demonstrated persistence, kindness, and patience throughout the process and we would have certainly resigned our lease with Ello House. However, after both situations outlined below were handled, we will be moving out immediately and not returning. We have had hundreds of tiny pests in our apartment that cannot be removed, however it took us multiple months to get a true answer on whether the pests would ever be able to be removed. On top of this, we have a neighbor who smokes cigarettes in their apartment every day and we have brought this to management’s attention multiple times in the past months as it makes our whole apartment smell of cigarette smoke and nothing has been done to actually solve the issue. Instead, we have been continuously told that staff, maintenance, nor management can tell the individual to stop smoking although they believe they know exactly who the individual is. As this is a clear lease violation, it leaves us questioning how no one has the authority to tell them to stop smoking IN their apartment. As such, we are moving out immediately and will never be back.

I've toured all the properties that have opened in LoSo recently and Ello House stands out above the rest!! The team, the amenities, the DOG PARK! Wow! Stop searching and lease at Ello House today!!

It is a clean complex with tons of amenities! Friendly staff that is there for the residents. Location is awesome! Just on the outskirts of uptown but the light rail is in walking distance.

I want to be direct and warn potential future residents that this apartment building is not safe. There was found to be a homeless man living in a vacant unit and the “security” team did nothing. He was seen coming and going at all hours. There is no security onsite, but rather a third party. There are no cameras in or around the building, so for months they said nothing could be done after dozens of calls from residents. Residents had to find this individual themselves, and when brought to the security team and the police, they simply asked him to leave. There are no breed restrictions on dogs in this building, and there have been multiple attacks by aggressive dogs living in the building. When reported, management will not step in to do anything. Other dogs and children are not safe here. They do not tell people this during their tours, but residents have to PAY TO USE AMENITIES. There is a daily charge to use the office spaces that are advertised as an amenity. If you do not pay, management will kick you out of the room, even if it is vacant. The ceilings are PAPER thin. You can hear every word, footstep, and worse from the people above. Every single step sounds like a loud bang overhead. That’s not to mention parties. Multiple residents have had to switch units due to this issue caused by cheaply constructed apartments, but there are only so many units on the top floor, so others unfortunately do not have that option. The wifi constantly goes out. This isn’t so bad if you don’t work from home, but those who do work remotely are being dropped from meetings almost daily due to this issue. There’s barely any visitor parking in the building and little street parking available. Not to mention that there have been many car break-ins that take place on the surrounding streets, so visitors have no where to park. 2 out of 3 elevators were down for a couple of months. This was very stressful for those of us on the 4&5th floors and with older dogs who cant use the slippery stairs. There are some positives about living here - the leasing agents, the pool, gym, backyard are all great. The floor plans are spacious and other residents are kind. Unfortunately the overarching issue of safety and noise levels from other units negate all of those positives, especially for the high price tag.

Beautiful complex, but the management is greedy and will put corporate profit above the residents experience. For example, the complex advertised free working spaces, then decided to start charging a ridiculous fee to use them with only a weeks notice through email.

If it sounds too good be true, then it is! There has been constant construction for months with little to no amenities open. Dog Park? Doesn’t exist. They lie about expected timelines & are plainly put just rude. I would suggest looking elsewhere due to concerns about safety, incompetency, and transparency. I am breaking my lease over the disaster Ello House as been. Ello? More than GOODBYE!
