Around 1900, Indianapolis' elite moved to palatial mansions along North Meridian Street. Now considered one of the country's "great streets," the North Meridian Street Historic District includes some elaborate homes like the William N. Thompson House. This former governor's mansion was built around 1920. The Meridian Street Foundation, a neighborhood volunteer group, works to support residents with the preservation process and beautification efforts throughout the neighborhood.
North Meridian begins in Downtown and follows Meridian Street north to I-65. It includes several Indy landmarks, including the Indiana World War Memorial, the Masonic Library Museum, and the American Legion Mall. North Meridian is also convenient to Indiana University-Purdue University, which is located on the west side of the neighborhood.

My apartment is a transitional place for me that I also call home. I live downtown where I always wanted to live, not far from historical events and places to visit and in walking distance. My neighbors are fellow Vets. The lounge here is very nice with a big screen TV and VCR and computer area with free WiFi is a plus and well kept along with the hallways on all three floors, and the stairs and common bathroom for visitors are well kept and maintained by us fellow Vets. The staff is awesome, we have case managers we see once a week, house meetings as well as movie nights once a month. The holidays here are amazing and with such planning from all over the city. The maintenance staff is great and help keep our building and apartments maintained and in safe and healthy conditions. The staff offices are on-sight, just a telephone call away as well as on-call staff after hours for any emergencies.There is front desk personnel 24/7 to buzz you in the building for security reasons.
