It is the worst place you can ever move in with your family. If you are 20, maybe it’s fine, if you value your quality life, look elsewhere where. Rude Customer Service, especially DelAnn, always with attitude and never helpful. Any question you have, she doesn’t know, or says she will do it and never does it. Nobody returns your emails or phone calls. Manager Courtney is always “out” and never returns any phone calls. If you have a leak, wait 3 weeks for someone to come in and look at it and another 2 weeks to come and fix it. Parties at the pool at 2-3 am, screaming and drinking. Constant smoking cigarettes & weed and no one does anything about it, even when it’s against the lease. You can smell the cigarette smoke inside of your place and they won’t do anything about it. It’s the worst place. STAY AWAY. Apartments never cleaned prior moving in and Xfinity will take a month to set up the internet.

Lisa, our leasing agent is wonderful. Nice, courteous, responsive and does what she says. Wow. So, wonderful to be taken care of.

My partner and I recently relocated from Florida to Kalamazoo. Amidst the numerous stresses of moving, securing an apartment at Drake’s Pond was not one of them. DelAnn was incredibly helpful throughout the process, making everything incredibly smooth and effortless.

After my annual apartment inspection (prior to lease renewal), Chris came to my apartment to take care of an outlet that needed a minor repair and a closet door that did not work properly. Chris took off his shoes prior to walking around. I didn't expect that but appreciated it. He repaired my outlet quickly AND checked outlets that work by a light switch to make sure they operated. He also fixed an annoying closet door that did not close. I really liked it that he answered questions and explained the doors and outlets to me. He made me feel that it was okay to call maintenance any time and ask questions.

We moved out and they are charging use so much money. They will buckle and dime you when you move out. They pool is always colsed and rude staff.

The staff at Drake Pond always go above and beyond. From responding to maintenance requests quickly, to helping us carry a new desk upstairs, we've always felt taken care of. Julianne from the leasing office also helped us find another unit within our budget when we otherwise would have needed to move. Looking forward to making more memories at Drakes Pond!

Went into looking for the perfect apartment thinking it would take months of tours and appointments before finding the right one. Explored Drakes Pond once and knew it was the perfect spot. DelAnn showed great customer service by showing a list of available options and taking the time to follow up with me on questions I had. Definitely looking forward my stay here.

Let me start off with how beautiful this place is. I love the trees, tall and luscious conifer trees that stay green year round and are absolutely lovely during winter. I love having a cup of coffee with my blinds open, birds chirping. It’s amazing. Secondly, the staff are INCREDIBLE!!! They are so caring and really work with you. I’ve had an amazing experience here and every time I interact with staff. Lori is so kind and helpful, Susan is always a pleasure to talk to and very resourceful, I loved working with my leasing agent, Colin who made my move-in smooth and welcoming. I remember them all by name because I care as a resident too. Thirdly, the maintenance is wonderful too! Very quick and so helpful. Kyle is so funny and a hoot to talk to! He’s my go to in case I need a fix, another crew member came in one time, I didn’t catch his name but not only did he do an awesome job fixing my garbage disposal, he taught me how to fix it as well. As a 23 year old girl living on my own, life skills are so greatly appreciated!! All in all, my experience at Drakes Pond has been phenomenal! 10/10, I renewed my lease as well because I love it so much! Thank you to everyone at DP! :)

Just sharing a very positive and pleasant experience I’ve had living at Drakes Pond. It really gives me a peace of mind knowing that when maintenance is needed the service technicians are knowledgeable and fix things right the first time. Both Kyle and Chris F are outstanding they are pleasant with every interaction. Oh and although my dog barks at them she loves those two by the way. This complex as a whole has been absolutely wonderful to me personally. The office staff and maintenance team truly have gone out of their way to accommodate me. Drake’s Pond will be my home for a while!

I've been at Drake's Pond for almost a year and had our first maintenance call and was stressed and worried about my shower not stopping. The office receptionist was amazing and had Kyle a technician out to our apartment in less than 15 mins. Kyle completely replaced our shower fixture and cleaned up amazingly afterwards. I would definitely recommend coming to Drake's Pond, they value their tenants.

I have lived here almost 3 years and I love my apartment! We have washer and dryers in them which is so nice! Courtney and Susan in the office are always super helpful too. Best thing is our indoor pool, hot tub and gym!!

With a small window to move from jobs and the inability to take an in-person tour, the staff at Drakes Pond was incredibly helpful in sharing the information I needed to make my move! Susan was of great assistance in guiding me from the rental application all the way to my completed move. The property is well-kept, and the apartments have everything you need. If anyone is looking to move to Kalamazoo, Susan at Drakes Pond is kind and resourceful!

Dell Ann from leasing office is super helpful and nice. Whenever I went to her with any sort of problem she went above and beyond to solve it. She sees the best interest of the residents at all times.

Always have the best luck with the maintenance guys, especially Kyle and Chris. They always have great attitudes and communication.

My wife and I have been here at Drake's Pond for a little over a year now, and we couldn't be happier. Staff are friendly and helpful. Maintenance is prompt, and are happy to help you with your issues. Special shout out to Alex for helping my wife jump a friend's car the other day! The grounds are kept looking nice and the snow removal is top notch. We look forward to many more years living in this wonderful community.

I can only say wonderful things about Drakes Pond. The apartment is spacious and well designed. The grounds and amenities including swimming pool are well maintained, clean and fun! And best of all the staff makes the apartment complex feel like a home and not “just” a rental. Management and Maintenance Teams are there to help in any way and always make time for you. I can only recommend Drakes Pond if you are looking for an apartment.

My husband and I recently were attempting to complete applications for an apartment. We ran into some technical difficulties. The ladies in the office went out of their way to help us until the applications were finished. They were patient and kind, never belittling or frustrated. They made a potential terrible situation into a good one.

Moved in November of 2020 and it’s a beautiful town home. Many of my guest love it and they always ask me do I know if they have more available. I’d recommend living here with a roommate because it is a bit on the pricey side. And always keep your car doors locked. People will STEAL

Save yourself the headache! The staff and upper management are terrible. There is no communication unless you hound them about your question or issue and when you can get someone to talk to you, they are so rude. The property and apartments are not well kept, and the move out experience was an absolute nightmare! As a former WMU student and young professional in Kalamazoo, I can assure you there are nicer, safer places to live in the area.

I have lived at drake's pond for two years now and have just signed on for a third year. The responsiveness of the staff and maintenance team have been incredible over the years, any request I have put in has been handled in a timely and professional manner! The amenities and the quiet neighborhood really make this a high-quality place to live in Kalamazoo!

This apartment complex is amazing. In the past I’ve dealt with offices who weren’t as caring for their tenants like drakes. They take the worry out of everything. The staff in the office is very personable and will go out of there way to accommodate you. When a problem arises, the maintenance is always there to help. also the community is great too. Would strongly recommend living here.

I love Drakes Pond, they helped me when I was in need quickly. The apartments are super cute and I loved mine dearly. They have a pool, tennis court, playground, gym, and the staff is amazing! I would deff apply here if you are thinking about it.

A few big issues to consider before deciding to live at Drakes Pond : 1. Facilities issues - We have lived in the complex for over a year and the road remains in terrible condition. They spend bare minimum to fill the potholes which might last a week before they are open again and worse than before. Also, having two pools sounds nice, unless they’re rarely open. There were a handful of incidents in the year that we’ve lived here where the indoor pool was not open for weeks at a time due to maintenance or other issues. While this isn’t directly their fault, it is frustrating when it is a reoccuring issue. 2. Most of the office staff seem either incompetent or ignorant to what they are doing. There have been likely 5-6 times we have had a discussion with the office where i was told i would receive a call with more information or concerning an issue, where I never received any communication and had to keep calling them and remind them of our conversation. This wasn’t a big deal the first couple of times, but it continues to be an issue after a year of living here. 3. Maintenance is usually on their game, but there are times when i could be waiting days for urgent issues such as not having hot water. Repeated calls to the office will get you their standard “we’ll get back with you” response, which never actually happens. For the price point, I would expect better from an apartment complex. I would advise looking elsewhere.

Moved here from WA for work and wasnt sure where to look. Drakes was the best place that came up with the commute to work, but also wanted to stay near downtown. Drakes is close enough to downtown to get there quickly, but far enough to stay quiet. Rent is reasonable, and the property is clean. Worth the visit!

This was a horrible experience, these people will trap you in an 18 month leases with out showing you the apt.(my stupidity). Hallways smell the staff are friendly until you sign your lease the. Then It's to the wolves u go. I suggest looking across the street to the brand new apartments being built they are new and beautiful and priced accordingly. This place has gone downhill in the last few years. Just getting ppl in and trapping them. This place is so outdated and they try to make this place seem great until you get your lease and not to mention how many times they have asked me to do a review, well I'm fed up with this place and now you got your review. Stay away. this place needs a major upgrade before they trap you. I forgot to mention the parking is horrible if you don't secure a parking spot early in the day be prepared to walk a distance to your apartment even at night. Yours truly an unhappy resident!!!!!

I moved in since 2016 till now, but I have had many problems and issues. For example, first the carpet really dirty since I moved and I told the main office and they promised me to replace the carpet. But for over 2 years no one come and do what I like. There are a lot of stains on the carpet and I sent an email to the office and the pictures and still with me so far. When the contract was renewed they was promised me to clean it and it was not done. Second, I have the dishwasher has can’t be using,((there is a lot of rust inside)) and I requested the maintenance guys many time but no one help me for that until now (( 6 MAR, 2018)) . That happened since last summer. Also this dishwasher was really bad. they came and bring some cleaning solution and leave the dishwasher working until stopped and they not back to check it. I went to office each week, sometime I went to them twice per week they told me. please witting for hour in your apartment we will send the maintenance guy. sometime I not leaving my apartment I Just waiting for them. One day my son was sick and I wanted to go to the hospital, but I could not because they told me waiting for the maintenance man to come to you soon. Unfortunately did not come. I am so tired I am live in building 11.

In no way are these luxury apartments. The "beautiful" pond is filled with muck and always has garbage around it. The grounds are never well kept. Expect many holes in the pavement, units that are rarely clean (they cleaned the main hall in my unit once in a year and a half's time), and NO parking ever. In addition, the pool, gym, and "racquetball room" are all barely ever open or in good working conditions. The "trails" literally do not exist. Instead you have nonstop construction behind the apartments YEAR ROUND. Now yes, this is all superficial, and maybe your just looking for a quiet place to live. NO. You will have noisy neighbors (as they mostly rent out to young students), expect cigarette smoke and weed to always be an occurrence, and expect management to always be unhelpful with these problems. Drakes pond is an apartment solely focused on money making, and they try to charm you into renting, but trust me. It is in no way worth it. And not to mention, be ready for the lying and scams. My auto payment for rent was cancelled, and they have tried to blame me for this, and additionally charge me a late fee because of it.. So as I have said be warned. This place is not what it used to be.

I’ve lived here just over 2 years and have thought about writing a review for a while. I can confirm all the great things other reviewers have mentioned; however, my purpose for writing is to bring attention to the service that Drake’s Pond provides outside of our lease agreement - and that is the acceptance and care of packages on behalf of tenants. To keep us from having to make trips to UPS or USPS, the office will accept and care for our packages. I appreciate this so much as I am disabled, do a lot of online shopping, and have issues with getting to my door to get my deliveries. The office staff are always open and engaging when my family picks up my packages. Further, they keep a list of people who are allowed to pick up packages for me so that my packages get to me. I am so thankful for this kind service in addition to the quality living circumstances that we enjoy here at Drake's Pond. I am very happy with my experience living here. It’s a great place!

We moved from Florida and worked with leasing agent, Abby. She went above and beyond for us and made the long move seamless for us. When I bring my dog to the front office, Abby even gives her treats! Excellent customer service!

Very greedy and unprofessional management. Received an email that the lease requires a 60 days notice before vacating. The thing is, I didn't receive the email until 43 days before the lease was up. I replied 11 hours after receiving the email stating that I planned on signing a new lease with Drake's Pond but a different floor plan, and requested the move-out notice form to sign. I never received a reply, then was told a month later that I never gave my notice. Had to provide proof that I originally requested the form and never heard back. Then they just back-dated it so I still owe 17 days of rent for my current apartment while I will be paying rent for the new apartment. Oh and they also told me it was 23 extra days of rent that I owed... it's a good thing I know how to count and had to correct them. What kind of customer service is that??? I recommend staying far far away from this place!!

Drakes Ponds markets itself as a luxury apartment complex, but it is no where near luxury. Pest control is rare. Upkeep of grounds lacks professionalism, office staff are not friendly, and amenities never work. The cabinet and drawers are falling apart and dryers do not work correctly. We have taken videos to prove the ant infestation as well as the clothes that are ruined in the dryer. The heater also breaks down every month so our utility bills are astronomical. Do not rent here.

Management team are the so unhelpful! Jessalyn, the manager of this place, makes you feel so uncomfortable even talking to her! Nothing she will do to make you feel any effort of solving the issue you have. Her communicating skills are so unprofessional. I had a maintenance request that was pending for more than a week, she could have easily contacted the maintenance team to set a time to fix the problem, however, due to her lack of respect and intention to help, she decided that a should wait longer to be helped! Moreover, the Power bills are crazy high in this place. you will diffidently be paying a way more than other nearby communities, could be triple the amount they pay. Not sure why, but it's a fact! Also the web portal they use for residents is really complicating things. They are not able to amend any mistakes in the monthly payments unless contacting the mother company. That may take up to a month in time! Yes a month. i was trying to change my contract and contacted them. Unfortunately, the did not even got back to me and the contract was automatically changed to a month to month one. Bottom line, i would never recommend this place unless they change their behavior towards their costumers.

Beware! Beware! Dont get into a long term contract without reading this. We have been staying in this property for last 3 years and the service for residents has been declining exponentially. The positive reviews are paid. The residents win a $50 starbucks card for writing positive review. So dont go by that. They have just 1 person in maintenance staff for around 800 apartments. Your request will not get fulfilled in atleast 3 weeks. The oldest appliances will ensure your highest electricity bill. I will not stay in this apartment. I was forced to stay here for my convenience. I would rather stay at someone more cheaper and better.

When renting, we really believed Drake Ponds was a dream luxury apartment come true, but reality struck pretty quick. First day we arrived, carpets were spotted with stains, bathrooms a mess, doors stuck, and infestation of bugs. The indoor pool was great for a little while but now it's been broken for months without hot water. Before that, the pool was broken for three months, finally fixed, and worked for a few weeks only. Maintenance is very poor and the "free" breakfasts are usually not refilled. Rent includes other fees and they keep increasing. Late fees are also a $100 after the 3rd day!!! Do not Rent here if you are renting for the amenities. As soon as you Sign, you'll be assessed with fees you didn't realize were fees(read very very carefully) and no maintenance.

I am giving one star for the pleasantness of the staff in the office, one star for the location, and one star because they gave me my security deposit back. Everyone was very nice, but the maintenance was terrible. The maintenance workers were pleasant, and always happy to blame the previous guy for the poorly done job. I can't think of one time that something was fixed correctly the first time. I talked to numerous people who had similar problems as I did. I had read some bad reviews about the maintenance, so we moved into a newly remodeled apartment thinking that would make it so we didn't have to deal with it for the year we were there. The apartment was covered with saw dust, the cabinets had not been connected to a stud, so were falling out of the wall, the mirrors in the bathrooms were falling out of the wall, the doors didn't latch closed, and there were carpet tacs poking up around the whole edge of the carpet. Everyone I talked to blamed the problems on someone else, including the maintenance guy who came to fix the cupboards falling out of the wall... he blamed it on me for putting heavy things in them. The most frustrating thing I dealt with was that our hot water wouldn't last for more than 10 minutes from day 1. They came to fix it numerous times and finally, after being without hot water for 2 days we got a new hot water heater a week before we moved. One of the main reasons that we moved there was the fitness room they had. It was quite frustrating that there was only 1 working treadmill for 8 months of the time we lived there. Again, they got 3 new treadmills a few weeks before we moved. We also had trouble with smoke coming in our vents from our neighbor (who was also in a non smoking apartment). The office would do nothing but notify her that she shouldn't be smoking. There was nothing else they could do, so I was stuck with a smoky laundry room and coughing kids whenever our neighbor smoked. All that being said, Drakes pond is in an amazing location, close to everything. The office staff is super nice. I would say if you are going to live there for only a short time, go for it... definitely not a place I would want to live long term though. Also, I should mention that they were very fair with the security deposit. We left the apartment spotless and got the whole thing back. I was pretty happy about that.

Love the location of Drakes Pond apartments. Close to downtown, shopping, schools, parks, and bike trails. The outdoor and indoor pool are my families favorite part of living at Drakes Pond.

My husband and I were looking to relocate to the Kalamazoo area. We had heard great things about Drakes Pond so we decided to take a look. At the time, they did not have an apartment for us to look at, so we did not get to see an actual apartment. Later that week, I received a phone call from the management at Drakes Pond. They told me they had the perfect apartment for me. They were not kidding. We moved in a month later and that was 27 years ago. My husband has since passed and my apartment is a little large for just myself, but I have no desire to move. I have told the staff the only way I will be moving out of my home is by stretcher. I love everything about Drakes Pond, from the continental breakfast they serve daily, the beautifully landscaped grounds to the friendly staff, that I now call family. Being on a fixed income money is sometimes tight, but I make do because I love living here.

Drake's Pond management and staff are always visible whether online or on the property. They strive to bring the community together with fun activities, respond promptly to concerns or maintenance issues, and keep the grounds looking great. I am happy to raise my son here, and thank the staff for all that they do to make the residents feel appreciated welcomed, and safe.

Drake's Pond offers very nice apartments that are spacious, up-to-date, and well-maintained. The staff members are friendly, helpful, and responsive to their resident's requests. The amenities for the apartments feature an indoor and outdoor pool, fitness center, tennis courts, children's play areas, and clubhouse. At additional convenience for the residents, Drake’s Pond is located close to shopping centers, department and grocery stores, restaurants, worship facilities, walking trails, recreational parks, and U.S. highways.

I never want to move! Drake’s Pond’s luxury apartments provide likes of greenery in lawns, flowers, trees, and flowering shrubbery. Well-maintained, the complex boasts of two pools (indoor & outdoor), tennis courts, volleyball court, continental breakfast during the week, package delivery (at the office) when you’re not home, and maintenance service that responds quickly. I’ve been here 12 years and there are other residents who have been here far longer. I like its security measures, the well-lit sidewalks and drives. Conveniently located to two major highways, restaurants, shopping, and other services, Drake’s Pond is supremely located, and best of all, despite its location within the city, it is peaceful and quiet.

From the courteous and friendly staff to the beautiful landscaping I've loved Drakes Pond for the last two years I've been here. Located just a couple of minutes from 131, I've been able to enjoy the private feel of the apartment while still being connected to West Michigan cities, beaches, and activities. I've recommended Drakes to many of my friends and will continue to.

I love where I live.. The apartments are big and in an enclosed building that makes me feel extra safe.. They have a huge maintenance team thats constantly taking care of the buildings, apartments, and lawn care. We have a nice gym and indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub.. The outdoor pool area is huge and the bathrooms are split up between men and women. I could go on and on..
